How critical hit should be reworked to remove its rng

Instead of it just being a rng system depending on ur chance it should just give u a crit attack based by crit chance divided by 100 simplified So if u have a 50 percent chance u would get a crit every other hit If u have a 25 percent chance u get a crit every 1/4 hits and so on This would remove the rng of it and improve the skill spect of the game

It would definitely be better if they removed some RNG elements, but this change specifically would be weird.

Everyone would be playing Jhin - not as the champ but with the playstyle.

Buy crit for 25% early on (usually with the first item anyways). Hit minions 3 times, then hit an enemy. Rinse and repeat.

Also you could buffer your next crit later by going through the jungle, hitting some monster x times, and then have a guaranteed crit whenever you encounter your next opponent.

Imagine this on someone like Jax or Rengar . Just buy one item 3031 for guaranteed 225% AA damage to one-shot people even more reliably.

Last problem is rounding. 25% = every 4th AA, 33% = every 3rd AA. 50% = every 2nd AA, 100% = every AA. What happens if you have 75% crit chance?

Also Ashe 's passive is pretty much a suggestion to this very problem.

This makes the damage in the game even worse. You know you have a crit in the chamber, target the enemy instead of farming gold. Have everyone load a crit up before a fight so you can delete someone in an even shorter amount of time.

Yeah, this sounds like not fun.

Besides all of the valid reasons this would be a bad change, your premise isn't correct. Crit as it is now is not a pure rng system, but a pseudo rng system. The general idea of it is as follows:

The more you don't crit, the higher your crit is

meaning:

with 50% crit, your 1st auto has 30%, second has 50%, 3rd has 70%, 4th has 90%, etc etc. This resets upon having a crit.

What this system accomplishes is drastically lowering the chances of someone truly RNG'ing a fight by getting 10 crits in a row with 20%, or getting completely scammed by going 0/10 with crits with 75%, while also avoiding a standard toxic trade pattern that would develop from your proposed change.

(obviously I used arbitrary %'s because I don't want to look up exact numbers/ratios rn, but you should get the idea. There is a certain # of attempts for your crit chance to be your actual crit chance, but I forget)

for me could be nerf crit% and change it to increese your dmg by 5% ect

We already have a succesfull version of non RNG crit: Ashe

It's by far the most simple and funktional way of getting rid of RNG, X% crit simply increase your AA damage by X%, it doesn't even need rebalanceing, it's basically the exact same funktionallity as crit currently has on the average dps, it just makes it consitent.

The problem with your idea is that it limits crit values to specific portions, else you end with every 4.631 attacks crit or something stupid like that. It also presents the issue of caitlyn's passive. If it's always a set number of attacks till a crit occurs, people can hit minions a few times and then harras with a save crit, makeing ANY % of crit insanely potent in lane, especially if your ahead or have a range advantage So while i agree that RNG should be rmoved from crit, i don't agree on your method. I think the ashe style is the way to go here.

Sounds like a hell of a draven buff.

And with this EVERY assassin would suddenly start building infinity edge into duskblade for even more of this one shot fiesta.

You realize what you describe is basically Caitlyn passive, right?

You really think that giving every champ that builds Crit a stack system similar to Cait's passive would make the game better?

As others have already mentioned, this trivializes fishing for crits.

I think I agree with Riot that the RNG has a place, but the high roll potential is just way too high with the current psuedo-RNG.

Imo there needs to be a restriction on how many times you can critically strike in a row with a certain % critical strike chance but lenient in that say with 20% crit you can high roll 2/5 crits but also still low roll 0/5 crits instead of it being set to a static 1/5 attacks will crit.

Then just separate the psuedo-RNG counter and restrictions to differentiate between champions and non-champions so "priming crits" vs champs is never an issue.

Biggest issue is this restriction will never work for Tryndamere, the only person whose crit chance is constantly updating mid-fight.

How about we just completely remove crits all together! ADC's can just rely on pure AD and their abilities.
