i went in to platinum 4 with a 60% winrate when my previous rank was platinum 3. I was gaining about 20 lp per match which isn't bad but as my winrate stabilized my lp gain began to even out to where I gain around 14 and I lose 23-26 with a 50% winrate. I can't say I've played perfect every game but if I win 4 games and lose 2 it's as if I only played 1 game and won. It pisses me off that I dont even have a negative winrate yet I'm losing more lp than im gaining

You are playing in match averages in gold.

My understanding here is that this means that you are currently ranked higher than what your MMR thinks you should be ranked. MMR is your "true rank" of sorts. You can be hard carried from Iron to Masters, and if you did squat yourself, your MMR is going to be terrible, and (this will show as you were getting carried) wins will give lower LP and losses will take higher LP. If you aren't playing well, your MMR is going to suggest that you should be placed lower, and as such you lose more than you gain with a 50% win rate.
