Losing streak after each win streak?

So recently I've been steamrolling platinum games with my main, and hopped onto a huge win streak where I had literally went through a whole division without losing a single game(not getting carried, i worked for it), and then got to around 45ish lp mid division, and then the crap just started!

As soon as I started playing more games I'd be matched with trolls, boosted players, really low winrate hardstuck people, and currently I'm at somewhat of a 7 game losing streak while also being demoted by losing one game at 0lp, whilst my mmr is keeping up with my rank, so I'm really confused as to why the system is what it seems like deliberately trying to pair me with worse players, and keep me from climbing?

THIS. I literally am experiencing the same thing. I was on a roll, winning lots of games by playing well and being able to carry teams, had a 9 game win streak, going through a division with promo's without losing and ended on around 50 LP when the drama started. I think I had 5 losses in a row due to unfortunate teams, one of them being at 0 LP and I got INSTANTY demoted. Like what? Usually you'd get at least 1 or 2 losses at 0LP before you get demoted. If this happened, then why did I not get instantly promoted when I was on my 5 game winstreak into promos, it's the same thing?

I know my MMR is up there and I'm not in the elo where I belong as I'm recieving way more points on a win than i'm losing on a loss. So where's the logic there? Why is it so 'hard' going up a division having to go through promos, but so easy to demote? It probably has to do with being on a loss streak, but being unlucky for a few games shouldn't come with an extra punishment of being instantly demoted. Because being on my 9 game winstreak didn't give me an extra reward either as I still had to go through promo games to climb a division. Basically riot punishes you for losing but doesn't reward you for winning. There's literally no logic here.

I go through the same thing too, as well as friends who play. It's too common to be coincidence, and it seems like things have gotten worse (for me at least) with the current ranking system. I think it's just a part of the grind, having to really push to squeak out a win when matchmaking wants you to get demoted.

They made it that way so we keep playing more and more. But ranked players are less and less in the past few years... hmmmm.

One time i had a huge win streak that bring me to diamond 4 (when diamond 5 still existed) and without any variance in my playing i started to receive literally platinum players that played like golds, no joke and i still wanted to play without any tilting and again, any bad variance in my play style but the matched teamates where just too heavy to keep climbing and i ended demoting to plat 4 LMAO. All of that in the course of 1 week where the games total skill were too poor for even be an enjoyable game.

The best solution to this is stop playing tbh, or just play with a good duo and try meta and OP strats, pick one because they aren't changing anything and if they try it again they will end up fkng up everything again like the positional matchmaking. Indie company btw.

It's pretty logical. Your MMR climbs faster than your actual rating. If you win a LOT than your MMR puts you higher and higher. Maybe it already puts you in Dia Elo. This way it could happen that you "going beyond the mark" (idk if that the correct translation). So you have to play with higher Elo teammates against higher Elo enemy's.

So let's say your real skill is around Plat 1. You start gold 4 you totally dominate your games. Your MMR instantly climbs to Plat 4 so you climb even faster through gold. Now you reach Plat 4 climbing to Plat 3 but STILL dominate your games so MMR thinks "hell, he is still too good for this Elo, let's put him in Dia" so now you are actually a bit too high for your actual skill and that's why after a winning streak follows a losing streak. In Germany we say "etwas muss sich einpendeln" that means until the point something find it's true place it goes like a pendulum at first a bit too far than it takes a few steps back (again too far) then a little bit forward again until you are at Plat 1 your real skill-elo with 50% and "hardstuck"

So how can you use this to your advantage? Let's say you are hardstuck Plat 1 at 50% and can't reach Dia 4 no matter how hard you try because system now knows your true skill and always match you with other Plat 1 teammates who can't carry you. Sometimes it can help to use "the swing of the pendulum" the "impulse" of climbing. That means you need to have to drop to a lower rank intentionally. You need to leave this 1 win 1 lose 50% shit. Then you can try to go on a win streak which "shoots" you into Dia 4 because system gives you Dia4 and Dia3 Teammates who may carry you into Dia.

I have only losing streaks (6 in a row) after 1 win then again losing streaks (5 in a row) and so on.. T1 is correct.. a bunch of apes are actually hard at work in riots matchmaking dev team.. they press random buttons job done

This happens to me all the time, BUT it's usually because I semi-tilt after 1 boosted animal or afk then super-tilt after 2 in a row, causing my next few games to go downhill. I start getting frustrated a lot easier and make far less rational decisions that dont belong in my elo.

I've had the same thing. Will win 8 or 9 in a row, but lose 4 or 5 straight after the win streak. For context I'm not carried, I work for wins, and I find that during lose streaks, one or two teammates will die 6 plus times in the first 15 minutes, then the rest of us start dieing because the other team buys items. I contacted Riot support to ask how they match teams because it seems uneven and they told me I'm a shit player lol. How does a shit player go on multiple 8 games win streaks? My most recent game at the time of this post I went 5/1/5, my entire team got 14 kills (I was part of 10 of them), but still lost in 23 minutes. There is only so much you can do in that situation in a 5v5 match.

I call it Rubber Banding.

It pulls you back then shoots your forward then pulls you back and does this over and over giving you the "Feeling" like you are moving but in reality Riot has hard stuck the account and you are not moving at all.

I think there is an underlying probelm with ranked that riot is not trying to solve, or has purposely made it that way.

It is extremely unfair to be punished for doing good, and I think what's happening is the same as with the gold bounties due to cs difference, where you're literally placed at a disadvantage for being better than your oponent, and riot's mentality towards things like these is just so unbelievably stupid.

Hey, I see these messages are here since one year but mbe if you guys come back or for ghe next ones, I wanted to share my sadness. So on this new season, I managed to climb from silver 1 to plat 4 pretty easily in less than 2 weeks. After being on a win streak of mbe 14 wins for 2 or 3 loses so I was in : Win streak, 70% wr and plat 4 100 lp 1 win on the bo. But like everyone here comes the chaos. I'll make it short : I'm currently in a 9 loses lose streak for 0 wins this time, plat 4 0 lp and I only lost part of ONE game and mbe half another one. I even went 17/7/5 or smthing like that with Darius but there was an Aphelios with 13 kills that destroyed the game (the only one I couldn't defeat). I don't when it will stop but it's pointless bc I can't fall further but in stats like my 56% new wr or my kdas getting destroyed. I feel like playing with worse and worse apes everytime I play a game and it's an inifinite circle where when I lose bc of a shit, I'm tagged with worse... But the only game which was the third or fourth where I got affected, I don't feel like playinc like a monkey and I keep being focused and making some good scores and being pretty useful but not enough apparently. I'm thinking that mbe the only way go get out of here is to be a meta abuser and play only broken tanks like Ornn, Zac, Amumu or Seju but how sad it is...
