Tips vs Vlad as Poppy, Olaf, or Gangplank?

Grievous Wounds from Mortal Reminder item 3033 will keep him from recovering all of his health back. He doesn't have great mobility aside from his Sanguine Pool and Crimson Rush. Stick to him with the Rage passive from Phage and the items it builds into item 3044 item 3071 item 3078 Or apply a slow from Frozen Mallet item 3022 or Iceborn Gauntlets item 3025 Low mobility and these slows will make him extra vulnerable to gank so ask your jungler or roaming laners to come help.

AD + MR from items like item 3156 and item 3139

Don't forget about the MR on Spirit Visage item 3065 works just as well against Vladimir as it does on him.

Walk away from him when his Resource bar is about to turn red. Stand behind minions to block his E. Build item 3123 . You don't have to finish it, you just buy it to shit on him in the laningphase.

I am a Vlad main, (slowly becoming a Nami main) and I gotta say, those aren't very good Vlad counters.

First, always try to get item 3123 grievous wounds as an AD champion against Vlad. Cutting down his healing hurts him a lot. You don't need to upgrade the item, so it shouldn't interrupt your build too much. If you don't want a Mortal Reminder in your final build, (particularly if Vlad is the only one that does healing - although mind that I find most people mistakenly think several champions that heal tons don't heal much at all) then try to buy the entirety of your fifth item before selling it. Try to get it early, I see a lot of players who only get it rather late in the game. Try to pick it up after your first (non-boots) item or earlier.

Second, get boots, and get it early. Buy tier 2 boots on your very first recall. A lot of people don't realize how important movement speed is for Vlad. Vlad has very little sticking power before Rylai's, so the ability to just walk away hurts him enormously. Both his ability to engage and disengage depend on Rylai's and movement speed, so Mercury's and Swifties both make a huge difference. As a Vlad main, I used to rush Alacrity to counter champions that gave me a hard time, especially Darius, whose pulls cannot be escaped if he was faster. Poppy, Gangplank and Olaf all have higher base movement speed than Vladimir, so getting boots before him can make a big difference in maintaining the speed advantage. Once he has Rylai's, the speed war may swing in his favor, (Two slowing abilities on a low cooldown, one of which is single-target and thus applies Rylai's' stronger slow) but the boots will always help you get away or towards him.

Third, magic resist. Goes without saying, really. Pick some up when you can, maybe even get it as a first item. Mercury Treads aren't a bad choice over Swiftness boots because they provide a lot of mr Swifties don't, while still fighting the Rylai's slow, just in a different way. If the Vladimir builds Hextech Protobelt or some other item before Rylai's for some reason, Mercury's will serve you better than Swifties.

Fourth, when his Q reaches its charge, (as indicated by the bar under his health and the visual effect of the blood in his hands) try to get in a bush or out of range. If he facechecks the bush, engage on him immediately. (As Poppy, try to walk out of the bush as he walks in and stun him against the wall) Vladimirs are weak to straight-up engages, especially if he doesn't have his ult. Of course, you might want to run if he has a distinct health advantage, but otherwise, bushes work just as well as distance. He can't target you if he can't see you after all. Of course, mind the possibility of wards.

Fifth, So he used a ward to poke you in a bush? Hmm? Couldn't even get in a bush? Vladimirs have a tendency to push up their lane. They want to farm with their Q to heal up and their E to last hit easier, but doing this pushes the lane quite heavily. If a Vladimir is wary, he'll give you free farm while he stands back, and if he isn't, he is VERY gankable. Try to ping your jungler when he keeps pushing up, and focus on farming and staying healthy before he gets there. If your jungler is half-decent, not out of mana, not low health as hell, or not a pre-6 warwick or something, they shouldn't give up the opportunity.

So did he ward that bush you were in? Doesn't that mean he doesn't have wards for the river?

Finally, Try not to chase him, as unless you can finish him off soon, he'll be able to heal himself off you as he kites. I can't tell you how many times I've been chased for a long time as Vladimir, slowing and damaging my enemies while I heal myself until I could finally turn around and kill them. Be especially wary of this if he still has his ult.

Hope this helps.
