Enemy garen just took a 470 armor malphite down to 220 with 2 lethality items. Seems kinda dumb.

Garen's E shreds enemy armor in % fashion.
Garen had the previous problem of not being able to get past tanky front-liners, so Riot gave him armor shred on his Spin2Win. Normally, you wouldn't see Garen buying armor pen, since he benefits more from things like BC. Odds are, it was a bit of a cheese strat, like crit Garen, or full AD Garen.
