About the Galio rework from a Galio Main

Note: This is gonna get looong, but the reading would be appreciated :).

Hello everyone. I'm an old Galio Main since Nicolas Cage knows how long. When my friends told me that Galio was going to be reworked, I was so excited. I throught they were going to adress some of his issues and make the champion better. First you have to know that I'm not a native English speaker, so sorry If I make bad ortography.

I may be not a very good player, but if there is something I can really talk, it's Galio. Galio is (or was) my main champion. He is by far my most played champion and the only one I have mastery 6. I have played Galio in every position, against a lot of diferent teamcomps. Even if the enemy team was full AD, I picked Galio still. I have always played Galio as an AP mage. I never liked him as a tank.

Galio mage had several strenghts; brutal waveclear, monstrous early game damage and the capacity of being more tanky compared to other ap carries, also his W was a very good ability for healing himself. Hovever, he paid for this strenghts, and a lot. He was melee, high mana costs, brutal cooldowns and hi was very flash dependant to make his ultimate effective. Without flash, you still had protobet, or the movespeed buff of his E, which was not very effective, but could be used ''volibear Q style''. ALso his ultimate was super easy to break, so control the enemy's breaking spells (blitz E, leona Q....) was vital to meke a succesfull ultimate and no dying making the magikarp. And I didn't even mention his difficulty to kill tanks.

His Q, also, was a high risk high reward ability, high damage and powerfull slow, but being a slow skillshot, difficult to land, with high cooldown and high mana cost. So yea, Galio had alot of big risk big reward abilities. Some of them did ned work, but...

Now I'm going to talk about this ''rework''.

First, we can't call this a rework. This is a relaunch. A replacement. Galio has been deleted and replaced with another champion with the same name. I have been waiting to play him to see if it felt like the old Galio, you know little Fakers, maybe hes playstyle wasn't so different, maybe he could still be played like before but with new tools to learn, you know, like who his skills are simillar but their players had his new E to learn.

But no.

Riot just took Galio and deleted it forever. I could understand deleting champions if they were gamebreaking in some way, like our beloved friend and his crazy kangaroo ninja passive, or the owner of Riot Games mr. and his hiddeen passive to choose the entire jungle rooster during seasons by itself, or our favorite highschool companion but was Galio that problematic?

I'm not saying that these champions should be deleted because they have a playerbase which has played and mastered them, and loved them, and they have the same right as everyone to have this champìons, because them are important to them. As much as I am tyred and hate Lee SIn, Lee SIn should not be deleted because there are people who enjoy him, and he and his ''essence'' should remain to this players.

But Riot didn't do this to Galio players.

His anterior playstyle was a tanky mage. You think it sound broken? remember we have an utility assasin and he is pretty balanced now. RIot could just have nerfed his passive and reworked his E to be an useful ability. The probabilities of what could have been are infinite. As much as I absoluty love old Galio's W, it had to be reworked to. A champion so tanky with that sustain was insane. You could even rework other abilities on Galio, but at least you could have changed 2 abilities of your choosing, or makje Galio have AT VERY LEAST have the same playstyle as before, but you chose to delete the champion and release this instead.

Old Galio was a mage. People always played him as a mid mage. Yea he had but the rest of his items were full ap. But with this rework he is just a Shen. His Q it's his only ranged ability and it has too muchh cooldown. He's other abilities are to run to the enemy, which force him to gu full tank, because you know, his W damage reduction is absolutely nothing compared to the reduction he had on his ultimate. Oh, his ultimate also is very circumstantial and is the major paryt of his damage. His E depends totaly on making damage to the frontline (which will be the enemy tank) so another ability wasted. His only reliable way to damage is his Q, which his damage depends if the enemy gets still inside it for the time of the duration. His passive also scalles with magic damage, but is very unreliable because it is a passive. Also it is there to replace the damage Galio's W doesn't make. So Galio full AP is dead. he is no longer that poke mage he was.

You know what's the problem? It's not the new Galio, IT'S THE FACT THAT THEY REMOVED GALIO and replaced it with this new champ.  If they just released new Galio as a new champion separeted from Galio, I would have been happy. But no, they had to delete Galio and just replace it. 

Now I'm adressing to Riot. So imagine that I'm the one who does the reworks, and I decide to rework . What I do for rework it? I just rework every single one of his abilities and I turn into and I call it Lee SIn. Now we have this champion and his name is Lee Sin. Has been Lee Sin reworked? Or we just took a champion, deleted it, replaced it with one totaly different and changed his name as the old one? How would you feel if your favorite champion, the one you have taken time to play, main, study, the one which you feel conected, gets suddendly removed forever AND FOR NO REASON AT ALL?????

Because the excuse that ''muh, it's old'' it's not a valid excuse to delete a champion. You're playing nazzi here, killing the weak, deleting the inferior. You could have changed some abilities and make it similar to the old one, you know,actually rework him. But no. Now Galio mains are forced to not play his champ anymore and replaced by a shen with areas. I don't want to play shen, I want to play Galio, the REAL Galio, that mage gargole, that silent guardian we deserve, that watcheful protector, the dark kinght.

Now you maybe are thinking ''but his old kit didn't represent a protector at all'' and my response is: ''and''?

Gameplay doesn't have to be forced by lore. Even if it had (which is absolutely false) then you could just change his lore. Or just look at . How an solitary evil spirit which steal souls is a support? Or how can a gladiator kill a god ? Why can't Galio just be played as an ap carry, as he always has been?

Why has been Galio deleted when there are a lot of champions more unhealty than him???? (And I don't think those champions shouldn't be deleted either, just REWORKED)

Why don't you just release new galio as a legit new champion without touching Galio and everyone is happy??????

Why you just don't rework Galio without taking his essence????? (there were A TON of options to rework him with making him still Galio)

Why you just dont think that, even low play rate champions, there are people who love to play them as they are, even if they are garbage????

Why don't bring back old Galio??????

Finally, my intention in this chapter of the bible was to make my points clear and show how has affected me the complete removal of my favorite champion. I underestand that, sometimes, changing a champion is necessary, but with Galio it wasn't at all. Poppy's rewprk was necessary and I think it was extremly well done because her playstyle is similar. But Galio? No. You, Riot Games, murdered Galio. The new champ you released is not Galio. It has more from Shen and Warwick than Galio. I want you to learn that, behind champions, are people who play them. I really want to know from you Riot why you had to delete not only my main, but the main of a lot of more people. You have made similar thing with other champions, but I don't want to talk about them because I don't know them as much. But you, Riot Games, carried Galio to a Gas Shower and puted his edgy cousin to replace him. I really want to hear, Riot, why did you have to murder. Please, I have to know why did you kill my baby, you murderers.

If you're playing a popular champion don't worry, you are safe from reworks; because if there is something that I learned from RIot is that Riot wants you to play what is popular, what is strong, what is genetically, superior.
