Jungle With a Blank Rune Page Challenge!!

To make the point that Riot's balance team has lost their collective minds with respect to the jungle, I challenge players to find ways to clear the jungle with a blank rune page as a form of protest.

Then imagine trying to jungle as a new player.

Then realize why there is zero 'diversity' in jungler selection:

If you can't jungle well with a blank rune page, the jungle is WAY TOO DIFFICULT.

My hope is that this exercise causes enough frustration to generate a generalized outcry against the current jungle state.

I've mained jungle for two seasons. I'm going to be cutting way back on my game time until it gets fixed.

Meanwhile: Post if you can clear three camps on either side and back with enough gold to get a machete upgrade and what time you can do it in with your favorite champ. Maybe Riot will begin to understand...

your not supposed to be able to jg as a new player.... thats why the dont allow smite to be used until lvl 10. even then most people wont try to jg at lvl 10 anyway, more like 13 minimum. make dat challenge with 1 quint, and 3 or 4 of each of the others, using tier 2 runes.

dont get me wrong i totally agree though.

You can clear the entire jg with diana before first b though

This really isn't even necessary since you can hardly jungle at all unless you're a sustain champ, even with a full set of T3 runes.

My entire champion pool for jungling consists of Udyr and Warwick, since the others I used to play just can't do it anymore without being at a severe disadvantage. Taking drag solo at level 3 after first back is just not something anyone else can compete with, never mind the fact that you'll be at 50% HP after clearing a single camp with anyone else which leaves you open for Lee Sin and his "LC$BIGPLAYZ" to come kill you whenever he feels like.

The fact that they still let Lee jump to trinket wards is ridiculous, at least back when he had to go sightstone to do that he had to pay for it. Riot just changed the blue trinket ward so that you can't TP to it too, but apparently Lee having 2 free dashes is fine.

Season 4, I jungled my smurf with nearly empty Runes and Masteries on pretty much what ever champion I felt like in normals before hitting level 30 and it wasn't a problem. My platinum friend who also had a smurf account at the same time didn't even consider it an option. I haven't tried Season 5 with empty Runes and Masteries, but I did enough tinkering around to notice that having the right Runes and Masteries for your jungler makes a HUGE difference. The hardest part about Season 5 jungle for me is when they changed the camps to 5 leashes instead of 10, which really hurt my ranged junglers. Because ranged champions start with significantly lower defensive stats, they rely heavily on leashing to be able to sustain in the jungle.

^@QuantumLightening You didn't need Smite to jungle in Season 4. Sounds crazy, but you only needed Smite to secure jungle objectives or to clear slightly faster.
