Group Up Ping

The title speaks for itself.

How many times have you had to type in chat and ask for your team to group up? Wouldn't a single "Group up here" ping be much more conventient?

I'm sure many people, including myself, spam ping on an objective if they want the team to go after a certain objective as a full team, but it's not very often the team moves as a whole to go after that objective (especially in lower elo) forcing players to type somewhere along the lines of "GROUP PLEASE" in chat.

Also if another team member follows up with the same group ping, not only would it keep them from typing in chat as well, it would better influence the rest of the team to follow the call.

Having two be careful pings seems a bit un-needed especially when a group up ping could replace the be careful ping on the "V" key.

Let me know your thoughts. I think this could be a relatively simple addition to the game that could add positive results to teamwork.

Also, I apologize if this is sloppy. I'm not much of a "post my ideas on the boards" type of guy. I just had this idea and thought it would be worth sharing.

Not necessary. Grouping up and playing ARAM past 15 minutes is standard play in Silver lol.

I would agree with that, but there are some games when no one seems to group at all, every game is different. There are times to group and there are times to not be grouped, either way a group ping wouldn't have a negative impact unless a player calls for a group that isn't the right call, then everyone follows the call anyways.

Just ping for assistance. It works in low gold.

Pinging for assistance is so broad though. Use it if you want assistance from one player nearby, a couple players or a few. Some players think they don't need to assist because there are other teammates nearby. A group up ping is exactly what it means, to group up as a team.

I rather not have that, especially because it would not fit into the interface. It's not difficult to write "group" in chat.

It's not difficult to write "help" in chat either but there's an assistance ping.

It's not difficult to write "help" in chat either but there's an assistance ping.

Group up pings are way too specific, and the assistance ping already works fine for grouping.

The "I'm on my way" ping and "enemies are missing" pings are about as specific as it gets too, what's wrong with having a group ping when the assistance ping is so broad.
