wait are you actually under the impression that yi was op before conq?

He's been completely fucked ever since I started playing this game.

Yeah that's great that you found a statistic on the internet but when I have my ad jungle item finished and he has machete and recurve bow and presses R Q and instantly kills me its fucking bullshit. I'm literally never playing this %%%% game again. There's too many %%%% fucking champions to deal with and I'm fucking over it. They need to take master yi out of the fucking game for it to be playable. Fuck you riot

The statistics is a result of hundreds of thousands of matches, which ofc is far more accurate than that one match or 2 where you got personally rekt.

Also, no. With Machete and Recursive Bow, both of which do not add AD, nor any crits, and do not scale with Alpha Strike whatsoever, Yi's Q at level 7 as proclaimed where we assume he levels Q first, would do a damage of about 200. And Similarly, Yi's R, does not directly contribute to Yi's offensive power PER HIT, because it's a speed-booster, and one with a pitiful level 6 version at that; as such, Yi still hits about 100 per hit from his base and Recursive Bow.

For Yi to "3 shot" you, assuming he Q'ed and AA'ed you twice, with only "R Q" AND HERE WE ALSO IGNORE ARMOUR ENTIRELY, it would only be possible if you had less than 450 HP, which means the statement is a straight up a mathematical impossibility. Because there is no champ in the entire game whose base HP is lower than 450, not even at level 1.

If we include Wuju Style's active. Given to scale it requires bonus AD which neither Machete nor Recursive Bow provide, and given YI typically max Q first, at level 7 YI typically only has 1 rank in E and without any scaling presents it thus provides an extra whooping 18 true damage per hit. Eighteen. So at 3 hits (1 Q and 2 AA so only proc twice), it provides an extra 36 damage.

What about including Conqueror? Okay. Conqueror requires being in combat for over 3 seconds and the need to enter combat TWICE to trigger it, which itself already takes more than 3 hit so in the restraint of "3-shot scenario" where Yi obviously attacks slightly more than once per second, Conqueror is basically not even a factor at all because it doesn't get triggered within the investigated time-frame. But even if we assume it is, at level 7, it provides an extra damage of 19 per hit and the benefit of 20% damage going into true damage (which we're funnily currently already calculating on the basis that Yi is doing 100% true damage and still can't kill you with only 3 hits); so I guess you can add another 38 damage to the mix (from 1 Q and 2 AA so only proc twice).

So assuming this Yi has everything going his way and is somehow doing 100% true damage, his first 3 hit does about 500 or so damage max (for reference, even the squishest ranged champs have nearly 900 HP at level 7). And remember, this is ignoring armour entirely and assuming Yi does 100% true damage. No matter how you look at it, it's impossible to be 3 shot by a level 7 Yi with only a Machete and Recursive Bow.

.........

If you really have to complain, it's more about Conqueror than about Yi himself, because it has lifted more champions into the questionable status than Yi lifting himself with his other stuff.

And even with Conqueror, Yi isn't even statistically broken (Yi has 52% win rate in bronze, 50% in silver, and lower everywhere higher; and similarly, both his pick rate and ban rate also tumble down a steep mountain the higher elo you go. This suggests that he is only good against bad players, and not even doing a very good job at that because he has 50% win rate in the division with the highest amount of people, that being silver, and only get >50% win rate in the absolute hell that is bronze; and you know what it means, get fucking good) so I don't even get why you're so mad about Yi exclusively.

It's not advice. It's a fact. Yi is way too strong, period.

"Way too strong" is someone like Udyr who is reking solo queue with a supreme win rate that AT NO POINT IN ANY ELO IS LOWER THAN 50% (and in fact outside of the outliner that is bronze, all of his win rates at at 53% across all elos. FIFTY THREE PERCENT FOR ALL ELOS), does everything Yi does with the sole exception of Alpha Strike but has permanent Highlander and CC so is basically an upgraded version of Yi (and also reflected by the fact Udyr has a few times more one-tricks in Challenger than Yi), also uses Conqueror and arguably uses it better than Yi due to his superior innate tankiness, and is also a direct hard counter to Master Yi being a counterpick Yi has the least chances of winning against in the entire game.

Or we can all look to the pro scenes and see how much carnage Trundle and Olaf are doing in the jungle. But no, Master Yi!

Why jump at the throat of Yi when there's a MUCH bigger guy right there for you to QQ about? Hell, there's at least 20 or 30 people before Yi, so why him first?

You fucking morons think winrate means anything?? The difference between a champion with 49% and 52% is so small it doesn't even matter. Every solo queue game is basically 50/50 regardless of whag everyone plays. I don't give a fuck if yi wins or not he is completely broken but all of your tiny dicks get so fucking hard for him because you like pressing q so fucking much. He needs to be removed from this fucking game. You have a chance to dodge an Olaf axe or escape a trundle but master yi can stick to anyone and one shot anything under 2500 hp. It's getting real fucking old

The stats are from hundreds of thousands of games. So yes, losing or winning 3% more or less is a pretty substantial difference (3% of 100000 is still 3000 out of 100000). That's the basics of statistics.

........

Yi's Q is also on a high cooldown if he doesn't get the refresh, which both requires a takendown and is also unavailable prior to level 6; and Q's damage isn't anywhere enough to score kills by itself. The QQQQQQ meme was from the AP Yi from Season fucking 1 that had been reworked eons ago, and I doubt you were around to even remember AP Yi, and you're just repeating dead memes in hopes that it means something.

........

Also, I can tell you for a fact that for a YI to actually 1 shot anybody under 2500 HP, what kind of gap you actually need from a practical standpoint. I was only able to do that when I was both

  • Using a crit build.
  • Was iirc 5 or so levels ahead of the enemy team's champions.
  • Had a PERSONAL 10k gold lead ahead of the least fed champ on the enemy team. Not a team lead, no no no no, I PERSONALLY had 10k gold ahead of the least fed enemy, it was that insane of a gap.
  • And STILL I WAS NOT ABLE TO 1 SHOT, I needed at least 2 auto-attacks on top of the crit-Q that follow up the Q to kill even Lux, who was also the least fed on the enemy team. So even with all of this, I still needed to hit at least 3 times; and yet you complain about Yi "one shot" like it's a given. No. Let's just say there are better champs who fit the bill "one shot" better, such as a very fed Kha who can simply jump at you with E and press Q to wipe someone off the map.

Even if not so extremely so, this the kind of level of fed-ness you should be expected to have and be required to achieve the kind of fantasy you have about Yi. Let's just say if you actually get yourself into that point of no return where Yi actually can off you with a couple hits by being so insanely ahead, it's almost entirely your fault and you utterly deserve to lose, because whether or not it is Yi we're talking about, anyone with that level of fed-ness deserve to win.

........

Yi's win rate also ties at 50% win rate at Silver, and every elo above that, Yi is played with a higher chance to lose from the very get go. It shows 2 things.

  1. Yi is far from being OP, given in any environment with any semblance of skill, he is more likely to lose than win by statistics. If anything, Yi is a handicap champion, because in any place that is not completely trashlord where nobody has any idea what they're doing, you are more likely to lose than win the instant if you pick Yi; just to let it sink in.
  2. And precisely because in any environment with any semblance of skill that he's losing more than he wins, it all comes down to the simple notion of "get good".

So, get good. Simple.

You're literally fucking retarded. I don't mean he walks up and fucking autos you for 3000 hp. Holy shit I can't even believe I still have to reply to your down syndrome ass. When he runs up unable to be slowed and presses q and fucking obliterates you with no skill required he needs to be fucking gutted from the game. Holy shit I was definitely right thinking only fåggots play master yi with the way you're jerking yourself off to this %%%% unskilled broken champion. Jesus fucking Christ you are next level stupid.

And you just complained about having to auto a kid twice and press Q to kill lux. Lmfao kid at least lux has skill shots. You're spending all this time trying to justify playing master yi without sounding like you're a %%%%%% with no skill who just right clicks and presses q. The lengths you are going to in order to defend this broken trash of a champion is fucking hilarious. The only reason you dipshit master yi lovers are defending him so much is because you know if he got nerfed to shit like he should then you would be ever more useless in this game than you already are. Lmfao you're garbage

You're so mad it's almost adorable. But then you're just mad and salty.

I was only able to kill Lux that easy after I worked my way into having a 10k PERSONAL gold advantage against her, it wasn't just handed to me you yahoo. It's almost if you're just reading the part you want to read. That was to show that even with an advantage of 5 levels and 10k personal gold lead, Yi still doesn't really "one shot" in the literal sense of that word that you're using again and again, and to show that you're clearly exaggerating.

Once again, as soon as you're out of Silver and actually go into an environment where skills actually exist, picking Yi automatically means you're more likely to lose than win, and that odds will only go up against you more and more as you go high up the ladder. That is the statistical reality, not whatever made up or anecdotal stuff you can pull out of nowhere, and this quality does not indicate he is overpowering.

If you have such a trouble understanding it, Yi's 1 dimensional kit is a handicap. His ability to overcome an enemy requires either 1 of 2 conditions where both of which needs him to be ALREADY WINNING; he has to kill an enemy only if he already has a superior stats due to the outright absence of all kinds of utility in his kit (his kit has ZERO CC), which he doesn't have by default due to his low base stats so that can only mean he is already ahead somehow before he is allowed to even be ahead, or he is allowed to unleash his full power only if he has already killed the target, which again, is also a very catch-22 way of design where the odds are only ever against Yi himself. This kind of design enables him to have the scaling factor he had, but also it means he has to work with a trash kit that just so happen to scales well; which just means the kit is trash. And that's why Yi's kit is both a handicap, and losing against him outside of extreme scenario like the dreaded Feral Flare (which Yi wasn't anywhere near being the biggest abuser of despite being remembered as so), every loss against Yi is your own fault.

You're only complaining about Yi because you have no skills yourself and is also most likely in the matchmaking bracket in which nobody has any skill whatsoever (I don't want to bring it up because it's basically skill-shaming, but you're in Bronze 4 for crying out loud. Unless I'm supposed to believe this lvl 148 account is a smurf, which I don't buy), so ofc champs of more straightforward kit like Yi tends to perform better. However, just because everyone being trash in the bottom of Bronze (not just in Bronze, the bottom of Bronze) and some champs just so happen to do well in that kind of environment, it has no say on whether or not the champ is objective too strong or otherwise.

But ofc, keep getting so mad you spout insults like those. Though just to be clear, you should cut down the homophobic slurs, because that can get you banned by the forum mod.

......

Lastly, I always ask Yi haters' opinion on Jax and Udyr. Because those champs work incredibly similarly to Yi on top of both having better statistical performance than Yi as well as both being hard-counters to Master Y too (essentially, they're superior versions of Yi, and are mostly picked as such); which for some reason Yi haters always skip them and jump at Yi when Jax and Udyr are both in the same room.

Yi's hate, especially this one you exhibit, is mad and nonsensical. Let us be real.

conq + guinsoo buff was probably just an oversight

he's one of those "forgotten" champions. riot doesn't think about him when changing things, so sometimes he gets indirectly nerfed to oblivion or indirectly buffed to the moon. the 8.3 buff was because he was objectively terrible. then, the guinsoo buff and conq in the same patch (8.6) was a terrible oversight. such a simple champion with such glaring (apparent) weaknesses shouldn't have an overall positive winrate lmao
