Aurelion Sol Q early detonation nerf?

Is it just me or does it seem like u have to wait a lot longer to detonate his q? I remember being able to semi double tap q and get a stun off. Now if they are on top of me or right next to me there is no possible way to stun them because of the delay. Is this a nerf or a bug? Or am i just high? Some clarification would be great!
