ult me after I'd ulted her first - very bang bang, and maybe server lag allowed her ult to continue right after mine. Seems BS though. I swear I've seen Trynd ult during my ult, too, or when silenced.

As for Annie, I believe this is because Malzahar's ult actually has a very small delay before activation (like 0.1 second) during which the Annie casted her ultimate.
Raka Flaka MD1 votesAs Mecar has said Malzahar's ult has a short delay after you cast before it starts to CC. If your quick enough you can cast stuns or whatever it may be that you need to cast to get out of it before it goes off on you.

baby reksai1 votesShouldnt be able to but theres cast timers. Very small windows of opportunity. Example: I TF yellow carded WW in his mid animation. He suppressed me for .5ish seconds and was stunned for the gold card duration. Should i have been able to do it? Not exactly sure. But the timing had to be right. If someone times it right, they have a very small window to cast a spell because malz ult has a quick animation.

Annie robably ulted in the fraction of a second between when you ulted her and when the suppression actually applies.
Kalista can auto through suppressions due to her passive. I've had a twitch kill me with an auto right before my ww ult on him ended. I've canceled a malz ult by flashing towards him as pre-rework fiora. My ult wasn't stopped by a malz silence in a mirror match. Suppression is a buggy mechanic.
