Red is at a disadvantage

I fell like i lose more games on the red team than the blue team because in the bot lane there is a vizon dissadvantage when at your tower you cant hit skill shots because your skill bar map and champ info are in the way pluss if your pushing the gank presure is harder because the river is faced that way also with Bard he has portals that go halfway from the blue nexus to the first turret while on red there is nothing to get you down there so it is a debuff I know i cant be the only one who gets buged by this at least make a option to flip the placement of the map skills and champ info in the options menu and alow portals to work on the side walls of red team pls riot

It bothers me too. Only when im playing botlane though.

Im surprised there is no option to mirror the map yet.

There was in beta.

It was removed because it caused some confusion.

Red side actually strategically has many more disadvantages than the blue side, Aside from vision (HUD)

the blue side jungler can also get dragon easier/earlier than any jungler that can get dragon at level 2 (Such as nunu) for the simple fact that red buff is an instant level 2 just like gromp or krugs, but its a buff plus smite will heal you when you smite red

IE nunu could get red, then dragon right away if he is on the blue side, but on the red side if he starts red he cant get dragon right away unless he starts gromp/blue first.

Secondly Red side has the easier jungler to invade (The blue buff) for a few reasons, most junglers start blue, so if red wanted to invade blue sides blue buff they would need their entire team obviously which would take the ADC and Support far away from bot lane, where as if blue invade enemy red buff, if you have your entire team the only one who is far from lane is the top laner.

If you're lane swapping, it's the same thing really...

Implying lane swaps happen in bronze

They can? Just because you are in bronze doesn't mean that you can't lane swap to completely shit on Susan.

implying my team will actually listen to me in bronze

As far as the info on the bottom of the screen, I think you can move them around. Not sure how, but I see people with them in different spots.

yeah you can switch the mini map to the other side and the character stuff swaps out...but honestly i think he just needs to get used to red side. I used to tilt a little thinking i was on the "bad side" way early on when i first started...now ive played on red side so much that blue side feels weird, but i really dont notice...quite frankly i almost like red side better because we can just walk straight into the dragon pit :-\

I think that is a mod and may be against the terms of service.

Pro streamers have them in different spots.

Okay? Just because someone is a pro doesn't mean they are perfect individuals or aren't above bending/breaking the terms of service.

I believe that you can only really shrink the UI and can't move it to the top of the screen for playing on red side. If you have other information, I would like to know.

I'm just saying that a pro would not stream publicly, blatantly breaking the TOS. That could ruin their LCS career.

Nilok1 votes

So could flaming/raging/trolling, DDOSing, and cheating, which some major pros have lost their careers because of. Some of them have turned themselves around and are having their lifetime tournament ban revoked, but others may never play again.

However as well, not everyone knows that almost all mods are against the ToS, so it could simply be ignorance. Having Riot just poke them could be all they need to stop without elevating to something more serious.

But regardless, what have you found about changing the UI without mods?

Edit: I'll take the down vote as a no then.

The map isn't symmetric. It's really a terrible mistake in my opinion (there are a lot of actual disadvantages to either side due to the asymmetries and always have been, whether it be blue side bot lane getting to start golems, easier dragon access, easier baron access, blue side bot lane gank disadvantage, red side top lane gank disadvantage, etc...) but the thing is that the map itself is too in place to ever be changed now.

As to the disadvantages specifically addressed in this thread: I noticed the same at a low level. As an ADC main when I started, I found my personal playing ability was drastically different between red and blue because of my chasing / running vision advantage on blue side. I complained on the forums likewise, and got a lot of people telling me to play unlocked camera.

I'll do the same for you - play unlocked camera.

It's pretty much a necessity. It may work to play locked camera at lower levels of play. Switching to locked camera during teamfights at ANY level of play is okay. Once you even pass level 20 though, playing unlocked makes a huge difference. You SHOULD be paying a lot of attention to the map that you simply can't do on locked screen. A lot of champions have abilities that shoot farther than your locked screen shows. It's easier to run/chase unlocked.

You can always instantly recenter your camera on your character by tapping the space bar. Try starting unlocked in co-op vs AI matches and gradually get used to it. It does make a huge difference in your game. My brother was around level 18 when I finally convinced him to try unlocked and he went on a fairly large winning streak where he carried most games after making the switch (admittedly I gave him some other advice at the same time, e.g. stop using ghost/heal and take flash with whatever summoner your role uses best) but the point is that there are small things you can change that do make a huge difference in how you can play the game.

I still play locked camera :/

I actually win most of my games as red side and have lost 80% of blue side matches.

You have less escapes from dragon, easier escape from baron but the enemy base is closer, and most of all, on blue side you are put with the dropping tilters, on red side you are put with ppl who are climbing.
