Has Aphelios ruined leauge for you?

I am writing this to see if any other members of the leauge community agree with the fact that Riot implemented a different style of champion thta kinda ruined the gameplay. I am here talking about Aphelios. A champ that has a different skill scaling abilities and rotation structure than what we have ver seen before on leauge. With such complexity and virtually no counterplay possible in any stage of the game, I believe that Riot made a huge mistake by copming up with this kind if champ. In my opinion, by releasing Aphelios, they just created another must ban or an unplayable game for the team facing the champion. Please share my thoughts. And I am on the vrge of quitting leauge after 3 years of fun I had on it, because of these types of champs.

Aphelios' problem is that he has massively overtuned numbers because Riot overestimated his difficulty level, not that he has an overloaded kit. He is completely immobile and only has situational CC.

I actually feel he is rather well designed at his baseline and like playing as him, very smooth and satisfying gameplay with room for skill expression without being too hard to pick up. And has very clear weaknesses with being completely immobile (ok ok Severum Q has a 20% movespeed increase) and his only CC being a short root on his gravity cannon which is not always available. But again, his numbers are just bonkers at the moment, especially the Infernum ult needs a much more severe nerf (30-40% AD scaling on the explosion is enough, that still yields a maximum of 150-200% AD damage from the explosion alone besides the other damage it already does).

My biggest gripe with him is his lack of clarity, as in that you actually have to look closely at his model to see which guns he has equipped. His mainhand is shown through the color of his ammo bar but I think you can only see the offhand by looking at his model which leads to confusion on how to tackle him.

Also that he is difficult to understand initially. When only reading through his abilities I was like "WTF is this shit I don't understand the first thing about it.". Which makes it hard to play against him. Only thing I can recommend for that is that you play a couple of games against AI with him so you can actually see for yourself what all his guns do and how his main- and offhand work together.

He can't ruin League for me because I always ban him

I keep him perma banned. I will never not ban that champion, he's just far too toxic to be allowed to be played.

For me Aphelios is interesting and I like his gameplay. What I dislike tho is overall damage in this game, since it is so high that every champion seems annoying. There is not even a single champion that isn't annoying now. You are slightly out of position, bum, you are dead. Got oneshot by a 0/5/0 tier 1 champion because he just does damage.

I guess you dislike him because he does a lot of damage and yes he is broken as fuck. Annoying as every other champion. His kit is interesting and we would probably like him more if only he didn't oneshot people while doing absolutelly nothing before.

He does not bother me, I main support.

Dunno… guess I have delt with strong Adcs before in the meta. I find him far less frustrating then Draven when he was a top tier pick. I played Dota Allstars, dealt with Invoker.

Don't really get it. Just a strong ADC pick that requires you to not cookie cutter into him.

  1. He has no complexity. He right clicks and Q's sometimes. His abilities proc his passives or something similar to them in the case of his ultimate variations (such as Severum healing for a flat amount). I really don't get why anyone calls this champion complex. If he hits you with an ability he fires his other gun too, that's literally all you need to know.

  2. His counterplay is he's a squishy, immobile ADC (only mobility is Severum's 20% ms for 1.5s on Q, only CC is on Gravitum's slows and root).

The only problem with this champion is his damage is too high at the moment. He's not doing anything different than any other over-tuned ADC, he's just right clicking people to death too fast (besides Infernum ult being ridiculous even after the nerf).

All of his weapons are overloaded with effects and his passive base stats scalig only reincarnated the class Riot tried to get rid off - the stat sticks/checks.

The only counterplay you can have against hin is lray that e doesn't have infernum and gravitum in his main and off hand weapon tab.

Oh, did I mention how unecessary his 100% AP sacling is on his ulti for someone who goess full crit build?

At first Senna's passive was the most interesting because I,thought it was the most overloaded one in the game, but THIS...

I'm sorry but I hate Aphelios as a champion, more than Vladimir Darius Tryndamere Jax AND Akali.

Has Aphelios ruined leauge for you?

No, trash ass team mates that go 3-15 in 15 minutes has....

Sylaelque1/14/2020, 10:30:21 AM2 votes

Invoker much more complex and gives you a lot chance to dodge his skill shots but Aphelios is right click champion so there is no way to dodge his abilities and he has a very overloaded kit for every kind of situations which leaves you no counterplay.

Eedat1/14/2020, 2:36:18 PM2 votes

No because he's banned every game

Congrats riot. Aphelios and senna have not only ruined this game, but I cant even watch LCS because all they play is those broke ass champions which are super fucking boring to watch. Everytime I see either locked in I'm disgusted and dont even want to play it out.

who's Aphelios?

i have 112k on him already... and let me tell you one thing that will make your life easier if enemy takes aphelios when im bot... i take tristana and just click to win... tristana is bursty and has an insane gapcloser, both those things are a nightmare for aphelios ... especialy since if he wants to tap his potential he needs to set himselff up (stacking chakrams with flamethrower or having chakram with sniper rifle) and quick engage is a wrench in his plans

overall i played the aphelios matchup from both sides a couple times... tristana always won.

if you are playing premade you can pick an early game botlane combo... he has no spell at lvl1... a quick engage is always in enemies fawour unless support does all the job

and if he is behind... well he is an immobile adc so the only way he can be safe is if he can kill anyone who comes for him... he cant do that when behind. Or his team wins without him... but then losing 5v4 is on you.

overall he isnt that strong... his strong combos are very conditional... the only way he can fuction is if enemies dont know what he is doing , let him set up and then walk into it

the only thing that he should get is to have drawbacks on his guns... so every gun is good at something and bad at something else.. after that ballance the numbers and his skillcap should work as intended.

infernum should deal the same damage the primary target as it deals to the side targets which is 75% calibrum should have lower atack speed crescendum should have much lower return speed when you are a longer way from the target so it actualy lowers your atack speed when used at range severum should have a bit lower atack range gravitum could stay as it is... its drawback is that it doesnt combo with other guns that well (other guns can combo with it but not the other way around).

also the goddamn turrets are bugged and just die when enemies come close wtf?
