Lamentations from a once Gragas main

This is my first time posting here, so I am sorry if this is wrong in some way, but I am pretty upset about the Gragas changes this patch. I kept putting off playing him because of I was afraid he would be really bad, but I was unprepared for how bad. He doesn't have a laning phase anymore. He can't trade or farm effectively. Even with level 5 Q he still can't clear caster minions and with the W cost he runs out of mana faster than ever. I understand that he was good, but he was pretty much the same for a long time after his rework. No one really cared until he was played in the LCS, even though he only had two small buffs since the rework and they were way before he became popular. I don't understand why he needed to be hit so hard. I haven't felt that bad playing as a champ since Skarner was first reworked in patch 4.2. Please give us our fat, drunk giant back.
