Auto Fill Should Be Changed

Hello everyone. First of all, I just want to say the auto-fill system isn't necessary "bad." I just don't like it. Second: my explanation. I have seen it countless times: People in ranked games get auto-filled constantly even thought they don't dodge often. Sometimes haven't dodged at all that day. So, I feel like the auto-fill system should be taken out. Or maybe there should be an option to have it on or off. This is why: Some of us have the patience to wait more than 2 or 3 minutes to get the role we want, some don't. For those who do, the option to turn auto-fill off would be for them. They could sit there for an extra few minutes and wait until they get the role they want rather than getting a role they don't want. This could also help bring Riot's Positional Ranks system back, and make it popular. Now, for the people who don't want to wait and don't have as much patience: the auto-fill system is there for them. They can que up in a minute or two at the risk of getting a role they don't want. But the percentage of them getting their secondary should be higher than them getting one not their primary or secondary. This is just my opinion, but I feel like this option could potentially please a lot of players in the game. I feel like there would be less rage, (resulting in less tilting and less abusive language.) less dodging, (resulting in shorter que times for all players and less tilting as well.) and last, more player activity. Keep in mind this is just my opinion. Feel free to respond. Thanks for reading and good luck on the Rift!

without autofill the queue times would increase drastically.

Notice how everyone bitches about jungle role? Good luck finding a designed jungler to queue up with.

Autofill wasn't a thing. In my platinum games (at the time i was plat4, i high plat/ diamond nwo) queue times were 7-10 minutes on average. Thats just low platinum, now imagine how fucked the game would be for higher ladder.

Even then, your solution to be able to turn on or off autofill wouldn't work... That would make queue times longer for everyone, even people who say yes to being autofill, there would still be pletny of players not selecting to be autofilled that would up the queue times regardless. And then if you make it so people who click yes to being autofilled get autofilled more often, then they are just more likely to click the no option, and now the queue times are even longer.

Being autofilled sucks, I get that, but it's necessary so kinda just have to get over it. Learn a champion or two in every role like before role select it was necessary to know every role because it was the land of pick order. And if you are really actually that bad at the role you got autofilled to, ask to swap or dodge.

How do you get people to play the roles that no one wants?

Maybe instead of autofill, just assign double roles. If there is an extreme shortage of jungles, just assign two mids to a game. Then everyone can play what they want.
