Nocturne, The Incarnation of Paranoia (Champion rework)

When will Nocturne be reworked? His concept is one of the coolest yet, but his kit...is lackluster, since it was designed so long ago its not up to date with champions like new Warwick. First of all, Nocturne's passive is pretty cool, "Nocturne's basic attack is periodically enhanced, dealing 120% AD physical damage to his target and surrounding enemies, and healing himself for 10 / 18 / 26 (+ 15% AP) per enemy hit. Basic attacks reduce Umbra Blades' cooldown by 1 second." and his Q, "ACTIVE: Nocturne sends out a shadow blade in a line that leaves a Dusk Trail on its path, dealing physical damage to enemies it passes through and causing enemy champions hit to also leave a Dusk Trail behind their movement for 5 seconds." But his W and E feel clunky and really not suited for his kit, if he is supposed to be an attack speed based jungler then why is his W a spell shield that is just like Sivir's shield but with just an attack speed buff. His E is cool...but I don't really like it.

Abilities.

His Passive is Umbra Blades. Very Similar to his current passive, but a few changes.

PASSIVE: Umbra Blades: Current passive. Nocturne's basic attack is periodically enhanced, dealing 120% AD physical damage to his target and surrounding enemies, and healing himself for 10 / 18 / 26 (+ 15% AP) per enemy hit. Basic attacks reduce Umbra Blades' cooldown by 1 second."

New Passive. Umbra Blades: Nocturne's basic attack is periodically enhanced, dealing 120% physical damage to his target and surrounding enemies, if Nocturne hits more than 3 enemies Nocturne gains a spell shield giving him 50% reduced damage from spells.

Q: Are you getting tired yet?: After an enemy stands still for at least 1.5 seconds, Nocturne is enabled to pounce on them dealing physical damage, slowing, and reducing their vision to 200 units. Paranoia effect: After completing the dash he gains a small Lethality buff. (Passive, only for the jungle: He deals bonus magic damage to jungle monsters based on his level.) I added the jungle passive because this ability does not work on the jungle

W: Crimson Harvest: Nocturne pulls the heart of a target (represented by a blood orb) out at the target enemies location. this blood orb can be attacked for 5/6/6/7/8 seconds. If heart is destroyed (35% of the enemies health). If Nocturne destroys the heart the champion thats been harvested takes all the damage that was dealt to the heart as magic damage to the champion. (_An allies heart can be taken healing them for 13/15/17/18/20% of their health back over 10 seconds, this puts the ability on a 40 second cooldown.) Paranoia effect: The heart instantly explodes dealing a massive amount of magic damage to all enemy units hit in the blast.

E: Duskbringer with no changes! Paranoia effect: He can send out a smaller duskbringer right after he uses his first one

R: Paranoia Nocturne covers the map in darkness for 10/2030 seconds reducing enemy vision and giving all of his other abilities bonus effects. Nocturne can not be stunned during this time.

And thats my rework concept. REPOST OF MY POST

While I understand why Nocturne needs a rework, with him being an auto attack champion, there a few things to consider.

  1. He is not Master Yi. Master Yi utilizes auto attacks as a huge damage source. Even his E makes him deal true damage with his autos. Nocturne is second to Yi, as you want to build attack speed on him but also consider other AD weapon options. The idea behind Nocturne is that he locks on to a target and uses his auto attacks a good damage source. Q provides chase, his fear slows them. W protects him and punishes the enemy, allowing for his autos to deal more with his assault. His R is a great Gap closer. His kit works with his autos, yes, but he is not Master Yi and how autos is all he deals.

  2. Lets begin criticizing the rework:

I) Passive: That may work in the jungle, for three camps out of seven (including dragon, not including Baron Pit), but in combat that would not. You would NEED either two more enemies, enemy minions, or jungle creeps to get that " if Nocturne hits more than 3 enemies Nocturne gains a spell shield giving him 50% reduced damage from spells" proc off. So Nocturne's passive does not allow him to solo enemies after early game.

II) Q: Soo... umm... how is Nocturne suppose to get the "After an enemy stands still for at least 1.5 seconds, Nocturne is enabled to pounce on them" proc off without a root of his own? An ability like this would depend on a root/snare (whatever the difference is) or a stun. If enemies keep moving, Nocturne will never be able to get this proc off.

III) W: Illaoi players and haters would not like the fact Nocturne has a glorified version of this ability. Not only does it do the same thing, it has 2 bonus effects. 1: It can explode, dealing damage to nearby opponents. 2: It can heal an ally. The former makes it appear as though Nocturne can fight from afar, for an assassin who is meant to give chase and use autos to kill his victims. The later is an issue of design. He can deal a decent damage to enemies with it OR heal allies? Nocturne Support for the win! That ability, sorry, cannot be done.

IV) E: The only issue I have is why not keep this as his q? Look at every champion in the game and you can see similarities with all of them in their Q's. This should stay as his q for consistence on all players and champions in the game.

V) R: 10 seconds is a long time. 30? You might as well have Nocturne just ult from base and your allies can use that awesome 30 seconds to kill everyone because they cannot see anything. This is absolutely bad if the ability goes on cool down the seconds he activates it. Say it takes 70 seconds to get cool down. That leaves 40 seconds of seeing, and 30 of not. The second part is fine by me. Somewhat like Rengar and his passive. So no real problems.

That is all I have to say about your rework suggestion of Nocturne.
