Punishing users for incompetent teammates

It is utterly ridiculous that users are still punished for avoiding bad teammates in queue. I have dodged two games within 24 hours because someone on my team has banned the champ that I have requested. They, of course, are not warned or punished for their actions. If I decide to avoid playing with people who ban a teammates champs, we have to deal with the dodging penalties. This game needs to be made as stupid proof as possible and one of the biggest failures with the new champ select, in my opinion and experience, is that users don't pay attention and ban champs that their teammates want. Their is no prompt letting them know they are about to do this and if a users champ is banned by their teammates, they are then forced to play with these people. If users are allowed to ban their teammates requested champs, we should at least have the option to re-queue without punishment. This is only when teammates are doing the banning of course.

Or they're banning the champion intentionally...

e.g. You're last pick and have intent of Zed on an all AD team, and your match history / ranked profile shows a sub-25% win rate on Zed. That's not going to go well. Not to mention say Zed is strong and the ADC is afraid of him being early-picked by the enemy. He has every right to ban Zed. He has many good reasons to.

e.g. You're trying to play Aurelion Sol in ranked already. You're clearly not ranked ready for him, as he's not been out long. Or again, maybe you're not first pick and the ally is afraid the enemy will take it first. Either way, a fair ban.

Your allies may be just as annoyed at having you on their team with that pick intent, as you are at them for banning it. Is it nice of them, or cool? No. But they're allowed to ban whoever they want. They're doing what they think is best to maximize their win chance.

I'm not on here much so I'm just getting this.

In my experience, these bans are always followed with "oh sorry, I wasn't paying attention" when the rest of the team is calling the person out. That's not to say that people aren't strategically preventing their teammates from getting the champ they want though. I created this post because I was first pick and wanted Shyv in normals. There should at least be a "are you sure?" dialog if someone on your team wants that champ. I don't believe that people are being malicious, I think a lot of times people are just in coasting type mindset. If this person always bans Shyv, then I think they just did it out of habit without looking. I think it would make for a better experience if there were things in place to help avoid cases like this, like a simple dialog.
