Why is there a split second in Qiyana's R that makes it so you can play around the R using zhonyas, or like flashing away?

Because 1. they want counterplay options, otherwise people be like 'yasuo op' 'nerf yasuo' 'omg windwall is a dumb mechanic' 2. Having small windows of outplay make a better viewer experience when watching pro. if everything was garen and there was no outplay potential, the faker vs ryu moment wouldnt have come, and there would be less places to demonstrate your skill. It's satisfying in general both as a player and as a viewer to zhonyas, xayah r or flash a qiyana ult/veigar ult/other highly lethal projectile and survive with mechanical prowess
Because they Qiyana deserves to have at least some counterplay :)
