Tribunal System Total Garbage

I'm sure I'm not the only person disappointed in how the Tribunal System works. Literally any body having a sour game experience is allowed with 0 repercussions to report every single player on their team. There's no backlash for false reporting nor is their a plausible system in place to appeal negative reports. Even not talking can result in multiple reports of "verbal abuse." The system is insensible and completely useless at this point. I'd rather have 0 repercussions for people talking about killing my mother than be reported for verbal abuse because I told warwick to practice. At this point you should rename the system to "babies having bad games click here."

Anything excluding death threats, which should be investigated, or intentionally negative play should be chalked up to the "internet environment." If you can't handle the concept of people flying of the handle when you can't confront them, don't play the game or turn chat off. If you're seriously offended by what people think about your "pro plays," don't play. Being unable to handle criticism that's exaggerated and often incorrect in an environment where you'll likely never meet or even play with/against the same person twice is a fault on a personal level and shouldn't result in a handicap that people are able to abuse.

Riot should do away with entirely or change severely the entirety of the Tribunal System. Options for verbal abuse should be chalked into the "mute button." Options for personal threats and intentional negative play with evidence should be the only aspects of this system. As it is now, the system solves nothing and will always result in abuse. The system itself is more toxic than the players it's aimed to do away with.

Please riot, abandon this atrocity or rebuild it from the ground up.

Do a bit of research before you yourself 'fly off the handle'.

Excessive and inaccurate (as in reports of players that do not consistently get additional reports) reports will result in lower report 'weight', meaning that report spam makes those precious reports count for next to nothing. Inversely people who report rarely and accurately (reported player gets banned or reported again and again by others) get increased report 'weight', above those that never report at all.

Also, the Tribunal System is the player input system that allows other players to review and judge cases brought forward by reporting, not the reporting system itself. The Tribunal is actually not active right now and has not been for almost a year now. Pending "upgrades".

Okay buddy I didn't ask for the in depth mechanics of riot's report system but thanks for the information anyway. Good to know the system works just as poorly as I stated above. The system is inherently flawed. It doesn't matter what the weight of a baby's crying is. The point is, nobody should receive any repercussions for announcing their opinion, regardless of how much it hurts someone's feelings. You don't need to censor people's comments. There are options to mute players and censor language. Being reported for using the word "fuck" makes 0 sense when the player opts out of the language filter. He chose to disable the filter and he should be able to handle the repercussions of doing so.

Most importantly, what you say shouldn't be taken as more than your personal communication skill-set. Not everyone is going to carefully tiptoe around telling you that you are indeed sub-par in your ability to play the game. Riot's attempt to have players do such a thing prevents them from even pointing out a flaw in a person's play. If you can be reported for literally any reason and often are regardless of the "weight" your statements hold, it prevents people from expressing their opinions in play.

If I make a mistake that I don't notice, I want someone to point it out. If they do it so bluntly as to tell me I should kill myself, I'll likely think about the statement more or less depending on my ability to personally filter the comment. If someone becomes abusive, the mute button solves this.

Once again, the only time a person should be able to be reported is when their comments move into irl threats with conceivable conspiracy which shouldn't be handled by riot anyway, or when I player is intentionally doing wrong to their team. Everything else is a personal issue you need to solve before logging in and queuing up.

You did, you really did. False descriptions of a system you obviously didn't know is just downright ignorant.

So yes, it does matter what weight they are because that's system that is a "repercussion for reporting every single player on their team". It addresses a specific issue you seem to have. If someone's being over sensitive and reporting every step of the way, then their reports count for nothing and you yourself should use the mute button and move on, as their actions will have little to no repercussions on you.

tl;dr If you are indeed pissing an overly sensitive person off who happens to hate the word fuck, chances are they'll not have any affect on you and you can readily ignore them with the mute button yourself.

My primary issue with your overall view on negative behavior, however, is just that. Acceptance. The mute button is a great tool to use for that point, yes. However it only addresses the symptoms of extreme negativity. Riot's main goal with behavior is reform and education. If there is no way to point out those who will flat out attack other people verbally, that isolation and education cannot happen. The "internet environment" stigma, as you so well put it, is a direct result of this not happening in many other places. Unfortunately you've grown to accept this behavior and, judging by your descriptions of whining babies and impulsive attacks on things you did not take your time to look into, begun to emulate it yourself. If someone tells me to kill myself, I don't give a bloody damn what the context is outside of a Zilean ultimate! That behavior is not acceptable here or anywhere. Can I personally filter it out and ignore the person? Sure. Can I mute them? Of course. Does that change what was said and the person who said it? No. And that's the core of the matter, change. If you don't give repercussions on oppressive and aggressive behavior like that, how can you possibly expect it to get better?

Just because you accept that behavior and shrug it off doesn't mean others do. Yes we can mute them, and you can mute the "whining babies" yourself as well. Works both ways. However I and many others want to actually show that (wait for it, another news flash) you can actually have fun, help others and enjoy the game without putting others down. I do it everyday, it's not that hard.

Yeah that's cool. I live in the world where people don't take things seriously because they understand people behind keyboards get angry and throw their anger out in frustration at any chance they can without severe repercussion. Riot's system for eliminating this is flawed in multiple aspects and needs to be revamped. Once again, don't play if you can't handle the negativity of the environment. It will always exist. Riot can't fix this. They can try and will fail at doing so. Creating an environment that facilitates no communication instead of positive communication sucks. There's no way to positively point out a player is doing poorly. Critiquing play results in reports and that's just "baby." Riot caters to babies.

There's no polite way to phrase this. Riot is successful on the mass population sense because they cater to the mass population of babies. They love baby's money and will do anything to receive it. Typically, bad players are weened out due to negative reception from not-bad players. In riot's universe, everyone is a winner, especially on the defeat screen because you can ban people for pointing out your flaws. That's the basis of the argument and the basis of riot's flaws. Until this is fixed, the system is flawed. Keep posting your baby responses, the answer will always be the same:

Babies suck and should be told this. Riot hates baby haters because babies provide money and bans the minority, "good players."
