What's with all the Akali bans now?

I have never really seen Akali banned, unless it's someone doing it because they hate them...but lately..well actually for the past 2-3 days when I queue up for draft..Every...Single...Game...she has been banned.

Can someone explain to me why she randomly jumped in popularity/Hate? I know she has always been OP or "Broken" but why now? Was it her W change? Did some streamer make her popular? She was only played once in Worlds so I know she isn't really getting flavor from that.

Yasuo, Maokai, Trist nerfed opening up more bans

Also she was picked at semi finals and is a broken champion

Nobody wants to deal with a fed Akali 2 shotting your ADC and 1v3ing.

She went legendary in a semi-finals game AFTER having 5 CS at the 5 min mark....

Why? Because they can.

Simply put, a captain always get 3 bans, so he or she will presumably always use them. It is just that the previous choices, such as Yasuo or Kassadin, were nerfed into oblivion, and Akali was next on the list.

In other words, they were no one else left to ban, but the captain still has 3 bans.

I need somebody to ban instead of Yasuo so i just picked Akali since i already ban Fizz and Tristana

Here is what makes Akali so frustrating: -You beat her in lane pre level 6 and feed off 3-5 kills of her -She hits level 6, goes bot lane, you ping botlane 10 times to go back they don't listen -Akali gets a double kill -Akali snowballs the game

I have no idea. Her w got nerfed so I'm surprised she's still being banned. She no longer gets bonus armor/magic resist from her shroud so it's easier to kill her now. All those times an Akali has surived with 10hp from burst damage in her shroud?? Not anymore.

Her W got changed so she has a MS buff instead of an armor/mr buff now. While the armor/mr is better for tanking, the fact that she got more mobility when she already had decently high mobility to begin with makes people not like her. Also the extra MS allows her to outplay slightly better as good players can utilize that MS buff. As many people can't handle high mobility, she gets banned. She also does pub stomp pretty easily if she gets fed.

While the W change nerfed her already weak early game, it buffed her mid-late game. While she already had no problem chasing for the kill, now she has even less of a problem with keeping up. Not only that, it also provides a pretty good escape with the extra MS, while also slowing those chasing her.

The cycle of assassins. The currently least nerfed one is going to be played. Also yeah she got buffed a little.

Still really weak to skillshots, Nasus W covers her W perfectly... or is that his E that's the circle thingy... just cause she's invisible doesn't mean she can't be hurt XD
