Shouldn't Runic Affinity get a rework with JG changes?

I use to use the Runic Affinity mastery. I was playing my first game and looking at the masteries this morning and noticed it's almost pointless now.

Before you could get 15% longer on gromp/krug/raptor buffs. Now you just get 15% on red and blue buff and baron? If there's only 3 buffs it works on shouldn't they be much longer than 15%? Or have some other characteristic like Smite returns more health, or the buffs are more effective? Seems like this mastery just got a straight nerf.

Runic Affinity never affected Smite Buffs (i,e, Krugs, Gromp, Raptors) in the first place. It's power is completely unchanged.

It only affected:

  • Crest of Cinders
  • Crest of Insight
  • Hand of Baron
  • Glimpse of the Void
  • Aspect of the Dragon

I don't understand why people keep thinking it affected anything else.

Probably because it SHOULD have and implied that it did so.

Glad I'm not crazy

wow I thought this whole time it did extend the buffs of other stuff. I pretty much assumed the mastery was garbage after the the new jungle was introduced but damn I would have dropped it last season if I knew that the buffs from the small camps weren't extended.

Useless mastery...

Riot says low rank masteries are supposed to be good at early game. Only the jungler benefits from red/blue buff in early game. And any competent laner would automatically opt to take either the assassin mastery (mid/top laner) or cookie mastery (bot laner).

30 seconds more zoning power everytime you manage to get a jungle buff? To me that just seems like 30 seconds more time for the enemy to kill you and snatch that buff from you.

I definitely support any rework for this mastery.

Uh. The mastery is for junglers. And it's useful. No it's not good on laners, they have other options. What's the problem?

The problem is exactly that. It's ONLY for junglers. The main reason why they changed strength of ages was that it was only a jungler pick.

Actually, they removed Strength of the Ages because it was pretty much the only option for junglers.

There were a rare few who used Thunderlord's Decree or Fervor of Battle, but Strength of the Ages was definitely the standard.

Karthus jungle still used DFG

Well isn't that the point of the rework? That they were removing role specific masteries and making them style specific?

Also, really surprised it didn't work with the other buffs....that's the reason I picked it.
