Why is Jungle Poppy catching on?

I've noticed... quite a bit of an increase of Jungle Poppys lately, and they are ruthless. They counter jungle like crazy and their ult is... their ult, in my opinion, one of the most toxic ults in the game since there's no counterplay outside of run away.

What made Jungle Poppy 'popular' all of a sudden? I use '' since it's still rare, but according to Lolking at the moment, Smite is the 2nd most taken skill on Poppy after Flash.

Yes you can Quicksilver sash Poppy's ult. But she'll have her ult long before her target will have a Quicksilver Sash (usually support so she can dive the AD carry with no fear).

She's a lategame top champ with a lot of counters up top. So you take her into the jungle for the same reason you take wukong into the jungle: to avoid your counters. You also do it because she has a rough early game. I'll also argue that she's got an extremely versatile build path and can work with any of the 4 jungle items. Not many junglers can do that.

Her ult is what makes her unique as a champion in LoL. There is counterplay outside of running, If your the target you can still CC/ slow, kite. Positioning and baiting is also counterplay to her. Instead of fighting in 2 mobs in the middle of the map do something different.

Most toxic ult? What about tyrndamere, and kayle, don't forget that malzahar Warwick and urgot ults can't be countered in a 1v1 unless your gp, if your gonna complain about how powerful she is look at her mana pool and ability to get assists first, then see your ez get two shot and say poppy's Q did 1.4K damage, I rarely hit my ult targets late game but when I do I'm doing 1000 damage on a 3 second cooldown.

Edit: oh sorry I was kinda a jerk there, I play poppy jungle cause I saw poppy thought HELL YES, and then looked her up on YouTube found "opened" who is a master league poppy player, and saw that he plays her jungle, and that they ban poppy sometimes in fear of him.

QSS cleanses the debuff that causes her to do extra damage to her target. She still keeps the nigh invulnerability. Banshee's is not counterplay. You did nothing but buy an otem.

Because you cut out the enemy laner killing her for free, and free mana from first blue to start your farm

According to a friend you build

Elder lizard merc or moblity Trinity bork

Can't remember the last two

you get a blue buff in the jungle. poppy presses Q and it costs 2/3 of her mana at level 1 so she's terrible in lane.

Same reason why Wukong found a home in the jungle. Its safer than top lane. They don't hve to worry about their weaker early levels as much, and mana isn't an issue.

Just like the commentators said in the UOL vs Millenium game (game 3). She has her niche. She is a good "siege breaker" with her ult. And it forces teams to play the game differently instead of the same thing over and over again. I'm not for changing this ult.

its proably because no one can fking kill her with that passive.

I've just been playing forgotten champs where they can't get bullied too hard. Poppy jungle fits that bill, and it scares the living fuck out of people when she comes to lane. I've taken countless flashes just from popping my head out for a gank, and they end up exp and gold-starved.

I've done the same with GP and Galio lately as well. Take 'em to the jungle and people no longer abuse them when they show up to lane.

I started jungling 3 weeks ago for the first time. because i got tired of watching the other top bully me. and waiting for 15 minutes.

I can only describe it being like five nights at freddy's... and I'm freddy, I may show up at anytime without any warning.

I may show up at level 2 or 3. I may not show up until level 6.

I've often wondered what it must be like knowing i could show up. because when I gank its like a reverse blitz grab. or heck i may just walk under tower to kill ya.

I'm not sure but I was considering practicing jungle Poppy myself. I like playing champs that are generally underplayed because people forget how to face 'em. I've been playing Ashe more often lately as an example.
