Wow... just had the worst matchmaking in ranked game.

Had an interesting solo que game today. My team was 3 silver 1 players and 2 gold 5 players. The other team had A gold 2 mid laner (going up against a silver 1 mid) Gold 3 Adc gold 4 support and 2 gold 5's. I checked opgg loading into the game and there was a 100 MMR difference between the teams??? How is that fair? Anyways we lost, not salty about it (on to the next one) would just like to bring this up and hopefully someone will see that matchmaking is still messed up

MMR is their only measure for games. Rank is irrelevant.

Thats far from "the worst" matchmaking. At that elo a 100 MMR difference is nothing, and you had a duo on your team.

The matchmaking has been broken for years, but it won't be improved since it doesn't affect professional play. The rankings don't mean much. Gold 5 is basically Silver, which is basically Bronze 2.0. You should expect your team to not be useful and you should develop a strategy that allows for you to still get gold for items, even when other players are losing lanes. Most of the time, it's impossible to carry. Farm, destroy whichever towers you can safely, and just wait until your team wins, surrenders, or loses.

Yeah last season something similar happened to me. Literally THE LAST FUCKING DAY OF THE SEASON, I'm in my gold promos after maining Sona support with a ~70% WR, I win one, lose one, so I steel myself mentally to play the most solid game of my league career when I get:

Aatrox mid main (ACTUAL 10% WR LIKE HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE)
Olaf Who's somehow unranked and quite literally playing his first ranked game of the season
Adc Cait who cant CS for shit, I had to attempt to explain Sona's kit to because she said shes never laned with one before. (Somehow claims to main ADC)

Whole enemy team is Gold I - III (I had high ass mmr) The only normal one in that game was the Kha jungle and even then, the two of us cant play what is essentially a 3 v 5. I've seen some crazy shit in my promos but that was my first time ever losing one due to actual rigged matchmaking. Promos matchmaking is so hit or miss its nuts. Sometimes the games feel normal and they're a breeze. Other times, you get Potato VI teammates who you swear are playing league with their monitor turned off and Challenger 1400LP godlike enemies, and just you're left feeling cheated.

This is why I didn't get passed my gold promos. My team would be mid silvers - low gold, and the enemies would always be high gold low plats. People say well that we're all pretty much the same anyway.

It's funny because every time my team has like the one plat on the team or something, it turns out to be a tilted sub 50% WR plat who's being shielded from demotion and they just feed. Feelsbadman.
