Assigning a Binding to Left Mouse Button
Why I Want This Change: The “attack move” feature (assigned to the “A” key by default) is something I would really like to utilize due to its helpfulness when it comes to kiting and avoiding misclicks. However, with things as they are now, I can’t figure out a way to get it to work for me.
What I have already tried: I have found that when trying to use the “A” key as an attack move, my pinky often mixes up the “A” and “Q” keys, which (for obvious reasons) is a major problem in-game. I’ve tried assigning the “attack move” key to locations my left thumb can reach (such as “C” and “V”), but it’s really awkward to try and utilize this in game, especially since I use the spacebar a lot to control my camera. On my right hand, I have tried to use a mouse thumb button as an “attack move click,” but have found that my mouse dexterity decreases significantly when I do this and my hand starts cramping after a while. Additionally, I have also tried setting the mouse wheel as an “attack move click” with similar results.
My Proposed Solution: Something that I think would work very well for my play style would be having my left mouse button be a “move click” and my right mouse button be an “attack move click.” I use quick cast, so it wouldn’t mess with my skills at all. Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to assign a key binding to the left mouse button, and setting the right mouse button to “attack move click” without having a “move click” available results in you never being able to move away from a target once you’re in AA range. I don’t see why assigning a key binding to the left mouse button isn’t allowed. I think it would be very helpful.
Additional Idea: Another idea I have that would be really nice would be having an “move only click” option. What this would mean is that clicking on an enemy or neutral target when using this option would not initiate combat with it. This would be useful for things such as not accidentally blowing up blast cones before you’re positioned where you want, and not accidentally blowing Sona’s passive on a minion when you’re just trying to move around in lane. This is only useful when coupled with an “attack move click” though, so if assigning a binding to the left mouse button isn’t possible, this idea isn’t very helpful.
If you have any other ideas you think I should try, please let me know!
