Kalista Buff Is Perfect.

Platinum kalista main. I have 850,000 points on Kalista and know all the ins and outs of the champ. I was talking to a friend a couple weeks ago about how Kalista would only need a 3-5 percent buff in order to balance her laning potential, and even out her strengths compared to other champions. A couple weeks later riot buffed hers stats the perfect amount about 5 percent. Now kalista's winrate has gone up slightly, she feels much better in lane, and more people have begun to play her. Riot did something right boys they nailed it. Any other kalista players feel the same way?

It feels great that Riot is giving love to a neglected champion I love. Hopefully the buffs will compel more people to play her.

No. It won't. People play what's Aesthetically Pleasing. Kalista has never been weak. She's just been unpopular. She had an abysmal play rate right after she was launched, and yet still had a 72% Win rate at LCS play. Not much has changed since then for her. She destroys her lane if she gets any lead WHATSOEVER.

Just because a champ is 46.56% out of some 20,000 games worldwide doesn't mean she's weak. It means she's UNPLAYED.

I played kalista for a short while recently, and before the buff, and I agree.. Kalista feels much better now then she ever did before.

Don't worry, she'll get nerfed again once she is played by the pros.

*cough sorry. Kalista didn't NEED a buff. She just isn't POPULAR.

She's been stealth broken since she was "forgotten" in Season 7.

Does she crit for 1300 damage? No.

Does she do 2600 damage in 1.5 seconds because of her spear stacks and ability to dodge? Absolutely.

Yeah I definitely agree and combined with the new buff she just received to her W passive, it now makes a difference. l think she needs 2-3 more small changes as well tbh:

  1. Buff her range by 25 (she has less range than Vayne)
  2. Remove the attack speed bug when she gets slowed
  3. Make the sentinels move faster and when they detect someone haunt them (giving true vision of them) and slow them for 1 sec.

I agree with you on item 1 and 3, however, the slow jumping(can not auto-attack during jump animation) was an essential nerf for her to fit into the meta properly in my opinion. Her mobility was (and still is) pretty outrageous compared to most champs even after multiple nerfs. Other players need to have a option to counter pick her with slows and cc, otherwise she can wipe the floor. I'm sure she is going to see some more love season 10 as well. Riot have been bug fixing kalista for the longest time and now they seem to have her where they want her at least mechanically, and are switching directions towards small controlled stat buffs to slowly even out her insane kit with some of the newer champs. The main issue is give kalista the wrong small buff and she could take complete control of matches in professional play. She spent 2 years pick/ban in pro play for good reason. Riot will figure this one out.
