@ Orianna players: Do you feel like Ori's Ult doesn't fit her playstyle / kit?

I don't play Orianna, just to clear that up as quickly as possible.

However, based on the kit design and the gameplay I've seen with her, it seems like she is split between being a burst mage and a DPS mage. Her passive, Q, and E all have relatively high DPS potential. Considering that's three abilities, I would say the majority of her kit says "DPS mage." (I realize that her Passive and E aren't as strong as her Q in terms of DPS, but I'm talking about figuring out a champion's intended playstyle.) However, her W and Ult are both burst abilities...very strong AOE burst abilities.

So although the majority of her kit seems to be pushing her towards a DPS playstyle, building for the burst playstyle is just as strong, if not stronger. I feel like this is a problem. So much of her kit is allocated to moving the ball around and doing damage with it as well as buffing/debuffing, but all the power is in the W & Ult damage and CC. Especially the Ult. It has AoE displacement CC, arguably the most powerful CC in the game, next to death...but it's on a damage carry.

There's one more reason it feel like she's trying to be a DPS mage. None of her abilities have high AP ratios. High AP ratios are par for burst mages, and lower AP ratios (like Orianna's) are par for DPS mages.

So, do you Orianna players out there feel that the Ult doesn't fit? Or the fact that the burst playstyle shouldn't be the strongest one? If not, why not?

Ori and Annie are cancer mages who need something done to them

I probably think Ori was just a champ who got her ult because she needed more playmaking potential, but its kinda too good right now...

Orannai is not a dps mage. A dps mage is Cass or Sol, Orianna is not that. She is a burst mage. More specifically, she is a control a mage, a mage that says this area is off limits or otherwise be punished with tons of damage.

Her passive is a way to make up for the fact that all her abilities center around the ball and not her, so allowing her autos to deal more damage. But that does not make her a dps mage.

Her Q and E are methods of repositioning her ball, not a dps ability. Since her W and R revolve around it, allowing two abilities to change its direction is needed.

Not to mention her E is not a good source of damage because it is meant to be a shielding ability, not a damaging ability.

She's more of a utility mage, retaining that mage-like burst potential, but have more utility in her kit compared to your traditional burst mage.

The downside is, her burst is not as consistent as your standard mage's full rotation.

Before anyone goes 'hurrdurr i got 1 shot by an Ori Q only', that's just silly. More often than not, she has to Q>W to chip away a person's life before attempting to go on all. Her ult is rather telegraphed and easily escaped due to the delay.

She is not a DPS mage because her cooldowns are pretty standard from a burst mage standpoint, except her Q, which is relatively shorter. The cooldown is still decent and the damage is so-so until she gets some items in and is maxed. Even then, the damage on her Q wouldn't classify her as a DPS mage. Her main source of damage is from Q>W combo, which burns up a lot of mana.
