Some people are unbearable during matches

I'm new around this game and I've been addicted to it for the past 2 weeks. It's like an "escape from reality" thing since it really entertains me and it's fun to play. But, sometimes, I get matched with really rude people (which are probably 10 year old children). I just finished a game and, because of the many insults I received, I think I don't feel like playing it anymore. I'm a beginner and I've been researching a lot to understand how this all works but there's always these people who are always criticizing me and it's not in a constructive way. They called me an "idiot", told me to "shut up" when I was trying to explain why I do so many mistakes and even told me to go away from keyboard (afk). The thing I find funny is that they can barely type, sentences full of typos while they're offending me. I've met amazing people who helped me in the game, always supportive and helping me around but I can't really handle these children. I wanted to get better at the game but their arrogance just blows my motivation away. Also, there was this one person who kept counting my deaths which was annoying me so bad... I think the developers should be more aware of the people that make beginners/intermediates/professionals uncomfortable, players in general.

This is what league has become and since you're playing euw it's easy to say you have people from poland that has that type of mental mainly because that's how they are in that country nothing racist but it's facts us people from example sweden aren't the best and nicest either but poland is the worst of em all

Maybe if you stopped ruining their experience with your 0/11 scores they'd stop ruining yours.

He said that he's legit playing the game for only two weeks. He's where he should be. The smurfs shouldn't be there. If people don't like playing with feeders and players who are much worse than they are, then they shouldn't smurf. (Really, they shouldn't smurf at all...)

Smurfs are right where they want to be :)

Explain to me where i said "He isnt where he should be"? Since thats your main point. Because i dont get your logic, seems a bit illogical.

It's not fair to expect a new player to maintain a good score playing against smurfs. He won't even be able to learn how to improve, from games where he gets crushed by smurfs.

Your response indicated that you felt that the responsibility for the problem lay with the novice. In reality, the novice is playing appropriately.

Sorry I’ve had a busy week just finally getting to this. Yes you’re correct my response indicated that I felt the one who started the issue was the novice. Here are my reasons why.

  1. The novice came on here to complain not the other guy.
  2. The novice regardless of skill level of him or his opponent was the one to unbalance that specific game in terms of gold for each champion.
  3. Assuming someone is a smurf because they crushed someone is a terrible argument.
  4. Saying a player won’t learn to improve from playing against better players is like saying players will never improve unless they’re winning . It’s actually your losses where you learn the most from. If he rewatches that game he’ll see where he went wrong and what he could improve on. So yea I put the responsibility on the novice to come on here and complain about something being “unbearable” because what his lack of skill and someone calling him out on it? Was it right for the other person to flame him? No but calling someone a smurf for crushing a beginner doesn’t make much sense either

  1. The beginner came on to complain about very rude low-level players.
  2. I would argue that smurfs are the ones that unbalance a game. The novice was playing appropriately for his lvl and mmr.
  3. We don't assume that they are a smurf because they crushed. In fact they were on the same team as the new player. We assume that they are smurfs (albeit smurfs of a very low kind) because they said that they were, or implied it from other things that they said.
  4. That is not the case. Legitimate losses can be educational, too. But matches where the new player is crushed before they can assess what is even happenning teach them nothing. It's a very stupid sort of rationalization that smurfs use to excuse themselves for being bullies.

The smurfs are basically cheating. In this case, pretty sure that it's a bronze player who's account was banned. (And apparently he won't keep this one for long, either frown)

MMR exists to try and stop this thing. Because it's impossible for a new player to learn in these situations, and they just quit. MMR doesn't always work, though, and this player found himself win a match with one who sought to circumvent it.

"The smurfs are basically cheating. In this case" You're accusing people of cheating because theyre more skilled at the game?

  1. Who were being rude for what reason? He said they're ruining his experience, i said hes ruining their experience so its fair. Him coming on here is just basically wanting to cause an issue out of nothing. You're making it sound like no ones ever been called an idiot on the internet before. Like sure they shouldnt doi but they did big deal move on.
  2. Did you watch the game? And what does it mean o be "playing appropriately for his level and mmr". So if im playing in a lower elo i can intentionally play worse? You're ether playing correctly or you arent. You're either making a mistake or you arent. Sure theres gray area but even then you can label some options as correct play and anything outside of those options is mistake or incorrect play. Being called out for playing incorrectly, yes should be more constructive or not done but like i said you cant start blaming the other player for playing better. 3.So if i say im a master's smurf in a bronze game where i go 20/2 or 1/12 does that mean im actually a master's smurf. I mean do you also believe when him when he says rude things? Not everything someone says is true. 4.Considering i learned the game by playing against a diamond player when i was in bronze, id say this is false. You get crushed when you make too many mistakes, and if you rewatch the game you'll be able to pinpoint those mistakes.

Unfortunately, because you are new, you actually have an even higher percentage of rude players in your matches. After you reach level 25 or 30, there will be many fewer rude teammates. It will always be a problem, but not nearly so much as you experience now.

You can try to soften the blow a little, by making friends and playing in premades. However, this will make winning even more difficult for you, because you'll get matched against other premades which likely include smurfs when the MMR is reckoned to include low-level players like yourself. And, your teammates won't be rude, but the enemies will be just as rude.

It's a problem. Try to reach lvl 25 as quickly as you can. It will get a little better.

(Because, most of those illiterate jerks, are players who already lost their accounts for being excessively rude and now they made a new one.)

There's more than enough shit online to teach you the game. You don't need your team mates to teach you. They are probably idiots anyway that can't teach you anything worth learning. Ignore, mute and enjoy.
