10 Blind Bans For Draft Mode
Not my Idea but feel It really needs to be brought up again.
The post calling for 10 bans per game arent wrong really, with an ever expanding pool of options 6 bans just doesnt cut it anymore. BUT at the same time as a huge fan of Talon before the rework and a big fan of his new kit I would really like to play him. Problem being hes banned every game and I cant get him through most of the time, and thats with only 6 bans. With 10 Id never see him again till he got nerfed.
My favorite solution Ive seen in the boards so far is for 10 BLIND bans at the start of the match. It would work like this: Champ select would start and everyone would ban one champ. thats 5 champs each team with no comunication. After bans are complete theyd be revealed and if the same champ was banned multiple times then theyre still banned and the multiples were just wasted bans. Meaning that you could potentially have all 10 bans be the same champ and only one hero got banned that game. Or you could have everyone ban 10 different people. The obviously most likely scenario is there to actually be between 5-8 bans Id guess.
Plays mind games with you because think back to the Sona mini-rework where she had like a 70% winrate, so broken she had to be hotfixed before a real patch came out, When your banning you have to risk wasting your ban on her when shes most likely going to be banned anyway, problem with that is that if everyone thinks the same way and says "Oh someone else will get her so Ill ban this other guy" Then she makes it through and you let something awful into your game.
Biggest problem I see with this is parties in call with eachother will have a huge advantage because they wont double ban. Dont know how to get around that.
10 drafted bans as we do it now wouldnt allow people to ever play what they want. Game would turn into a rotation of Hiddin OPs to get through ban phase. If we're gonna do 10 bans think they should be blind OR keep the current ban system but make it 8 and the bottom 4 players ban instead of Bottom 3.
