Why nerf Zed ???

In this patch 5.9, Zed's nerf is too much, the low HP RREQ clutch will gone forever, it makes this Assassin champion so weak and can not do that much amazing moves since this nerf, the ultimate of Zed and his W shadow is like the soul of this champ, W got nerf once already, and this time nerf his ultimate, that will make so much ad carry and ap carry too strong late game, even now sometimes Zed can not kill because of zhongyas and QSS, and good players will flash or cc u right after Zed shows up after ultimate, and this nerf will make zed to be a easy target to kill because 1 second no reason cool down, so plz , do not nerf him, it is balance already

u r so right .. i am main zed and now i have to main another champ because zed is really useless now... he is Counter so easy by cc, zhonyers or othr itmes. A lb still oneshots u can can jump out easyly so return this fckin patch it made one of the greatest assasins to a big Piece of useless shit

See, the thing is, I don't agree with this Zed nerf. However, Zed does need a nerf. Rito fails to acknowledge the issue with Zed, which is his no risk laning phase. He has no mana, and energy instead. his W E Q clears a minion wave and pokes at the same time. He can then roam and get fed. If he is ganked he shadows out. The issue with Zed is laning phase, not assassinations.

I don't understand the problem. Doesn't Zed still deal the same amount of damage as before? So how does he suddenly become incredibly weak?

Its basically the zed players who think they are faker whining because they can't instantly tele back to their ulti shadow.

Due to the change, once he goes it - he stays in. Players now get a full second to destroy Zed before he can escape. Pre-Nerf, A competent player with a half decent pick into Zed will know to throw their CC behind them once he comes out of his ult for an easy kill. Post nerf it is far to easy to lock him down and take him out. He is also incredibly clunky to play and just doesn't feel the same.

Personally, I never had too much of a problem with Zed. I played a lot of Veigar, and even after they nerfed his E, you can still place behind you right as Zed casts his ultimate. I can understand the frustration that a lot of other player had with him, though. He's still strong, don't get me wrong. Now, you need to use your ultimate to dodge their CC and somehow bait it out. Not sure how I feel about that style of play, especially when there are other assassins that are much safer and don't need to bait out anything, such as LeBlanc. Thankfully, she will probably get the same change to her, since her distortion is much harder to predict the landing spot of than Zed's ultimate.

The thing most people forget here - This is Zed's ULTIMATE. This isn't some random q or e ability, this is his ult, his best ability. Yes you can get a kill and jump away to safety, but if the enemy has even a tiny bit of sense and survives it... great, you have no ult for 120 seconds. Zhonya, QSS and Mikael's were already big items against him, as well as Kayle and Lissandra. Now any champ with any small CC can take him out. His Mid/Late teamfight potential is pretty awful now as it is very difficult to pick out a target now that W is the only reliable escape.

If you are worried that the opponent will CC you after your ultimate, do you know what you can build to itemise against it?

QSS

Kidding. Assassins are reliant on high damage output. But if the enemy itemises specifically against you, then what would you expect? You can kill your target pretty easily still, especially considering that your ultimate can be used to dodge skillshots effectively. You can't just blindly jump on any target now. Did you know that Zonya's counters damn near anything in the game (balanced, amirite?), and an ADC building QSS will be a lot weaker than your team's ADC anyways?

Zed is not supposed to be a team-fighting champion, so don't complain that he isn't able to team-fight as well as be an effective assassin. He still suffers in the current meta, since a lot of players like to build tanky, and there are Frozen Hearts and Zonya's Hourglasses everywhere on the enemy team. But he can still assassinate his target. You have a lot of damage, and most assassins are very vulnerable to CC. Zed is no exception.

I never said he was, his team fighting was bad. Now his team fight doesn't exist. Previously you could get in and punish an adc for being badly positioned. The adc has to basically not be in the fight for you to not get killed now.

Both of these are true. I felt the need to make an ironic comment on the people wanting Zed to buy QSS, when he's an assassin that is used solely for his damage output. An ADC can build QSS into Simitar.

To be quite honest, I'm contemplating taking summoner 1 over ignite on him atm. Which is quite shocking that I'd even have to think that would need to be an option on an assassin.

I especially like the nerf, as I hate Zed anyway, but I can counter him well with Diana and Chogath and get fed almost every time while listening to the player rage about how OP I am lol

yea, that is the point, there are so many ways to counter him, champs, items and skills, just blaming his is OP, why not just being like u ? knowing how to counter and learn how to beat him in lane

Yup. I even was able to do well against him in lane with Morgana surprisingly, although it was much of a defensive lane game, I was able to keep him from killing me and I was able to get fed by roaming.

You are so many of the Zed mains love to draw attentions to all the flashy things that Zed CAN do, they have never really thought about if any champ SHOULD be able to do those things.

The funnest thing I find out is , most of the player comment here are lower than Rank gold 1, and most of them are sliver and Bronze, u guys saying zed need this nerf, but u guys dont know how to beat him cuz u are not good enough or your skills are not good enough, also, even u beat him, but they are still the same rank level, so they dont know the soul of this champ, and they dont know, the most important things inside this champ, a fight in a high rank game, that 1 sec delay, will instantly kill u and u dont even have chance to do dmg, not just a trick.

First of all, everyone above Gold is just ignoring this post (no one above Silver is agreeing either lol)

Second of all, if you die in that one second because you can't "Escape" how would you be doing "damage"

you don't have chance to do damage because you can't escape? but if you escape, you won't be doing damage, that comment contradicts itself

Note: I am just pointing out some obvious flaws in the statement, I haven't weighed in at all on the actual nerf :P

Yesterday I dove Orianna as Zed with 200hp. I killed her, got one tower shot and ported back.

All I have to say is: This change means completely nothing. Git gud
