How does Black Cleaver affect Base and Bonus Armor

I know that penetration/reduction applies in the following order:

  1. Armor reduction, flat
  2. Armor reduction, percentage
  3. Armor penetration, percentage
  4. Armor penetration, flat

However, I was wondering how percentage reduction interacted with bonus armor and base armor.

Suppose I had a champion with 100 base armor and 100 bonus armor and reduced their armor by 30%. Would their resulting armor be:

  1. 100 Base Armor + 40 Bonus Armor
  2. 70 Base Armor + 70 Bonus Armor

I ask primarily because I am curious as to how Black Cleaver would stack with Last Whisper and its upgrades.

Though it would also be nice to know if I play Trundle against Dr. Mundo again when deciding whether I should sell Executioner's Calling or build it into Mortal Reminder late-game.

200 reduced by 30 % is 140 armour... Then 140 reduced by 40% will be 84 armour.

I'm actually curious about that interaction now that Last Whisper only affects bonus armor.

Let's say a champion has a base armor of 100 and 30 from double Cloth Armor. That's a total of 130, but only 30 bonus. Full stacks from Black Cleaver reduce total armor to 91 (130 x 0.7). How much of the 91 armor is considered base, and how much is bonus?

  • Does reduction apply separately to base and bonus for this, leaving base at 70 and bonus at 21?
  • Does reduction apply to the total, but subtract first from bonus and then from base once bonus hits 0? This would mean 4 stacks of Black Cleaver would leave the total armor at 104 with base at 100 and bonus at 4. 5 stacks would leave total armor at 97.5, categorized as base with no bonus.

I expect that the first scenario is true, but I haven't found myself in a situation where I've stacked a Last Whisper item with Black Cleaver.

I guess I could get a friend to test it with, but I wanna be lazy. Someone's got to have the answer by now, right?
