Here's an Idea
Hey guys, I just had a thought.
I don't know about you, but there are times when I just hate the people I play with. I'm a solo queue player due to differing time zones with some of my friends so I play with a lot of random people, and sometimes things don't work out. I know that we're all better off not saying things we can get reported over, but sometimes you've had a long day or someone just doesn't get it, and you let something slip.
Why should we be punished for venting some of our frustration, in a video game no less?
This is where I had the idea: why not remove a summoner's ability to report for language/verbal abuse if they've unchecked the language filter option in the client? They'd still be able to report afks, possible cheating, and the like, but if we've opted out of seeing "*"'s every time someone swears, shouldn't we be mature enough to discern whether an individual is justing letting off a little steam (which is healthy) or being a first-class a-hole (in which case one could simply mute them on the scoreboard)?
Just an idea I had, I think Riot Games is a little bit liberal with their banning process and doesn't really factor in anything besides the literal content of the chat, when in actuality there could be context and other things contributing to what's said. I think Dunkey would agree with me in saying we need to lighten up about what people say in a game of League.
