People going afk= you losing less mmr if defeated

I just wonder why you would lose 100 % LP when you get a leaver/afk in your team, it happens like 1/5 games and its very annoying don't you agree? I just had a 50 min game, both team struggled really hard buy we finally won which felt really great which motivated me entering a new game and in this match one of my teammates leaves after 3 minutes~ which ens in a loss after 18 minutes and losing all those LP that I gained from that 50 min long game. This results in gaining 0 lp in 1.5h played, does that motivate me do take another game? No it doesn't.

My wishes is to reduce the LP loss when one of your teammates leaving/afking or make it more strict when it comes to leaving, a faster punish system which punish you after leaving one game not after a couple of games. I can admit I have left 2-3 games since I started playing this game (2009) but I have also been matched with over 200 leavers over these couple of years which my opinion isn't fair, the amount of people who leave is to high.

It's very abusable.

Id like to see it if they are afk to the point where leaver buster flags them, the rest of the team gets a slightly lower LP loss and all the LP the team should have lost goes to the AFKer. The losing team would still lose some LP but maybe give 5-10 from each person to the AFKer so they can end up losing 30+ LP from a loss.

Suggested a million times, shot down a million times.

It would cause an even more stressful environment and incentivize abuse of the system and other players.

When i was in promos yesterday I had two back to back games where my team had an afk.

First game our mid laner afk at 30min mark but we still won thanks to a fed ezreal.

Second game our top disconnected from the game the second we got in. Which lead to a loss

I did win my promos but I just dont understand why people join a game and then dont play it...

Afker our far too common in rank and is quite annoying

Yeah, AFKs = tumor. Another problem is that promotion matchs and placements matchs are special matchs, and any AFK will snowball harder than in usual matches. With the current system, in unlucky cases, 3 games in a row with AFKs, can cost you around 50 games of climbing. That's insanely fucking bad (and troll) to keep those special matches.

Riot is currently developing a system, that if a teammate is afk/DC in the beginning of the game, your team has the ability to vote to "remake" (or rather end the game) with no penalty/record of the game affecting your LP/MR or that of the enemy team. This would have no effect after FB, or if you wait too long. It would also have no effect if an ally decided to afk in the middle of the game.

Problem is sometimes it is out of someones control if they afk or leave. Yes there are people who rage out, but there are others which might have to deal with a serious problem. Another question you must ask can the new system be abused. Which it can be, one friend can take the 100% lp loss to have other friend/s lose less lp. People are already crying about silly DQ boosting, this would just help boosting people.

How to punish leavers in ranked

Leaver gets normal loss and then another 20 lost, this occurs if you afk more than 1/5 games. Example afk 1st game, afk 5th game, - extra 20

Afk 1, afk 6 no bonus loss

This leaves some room for those situations you ha e to leave but is strict enough that many will try to avoid leaving as much as they can

At this point, anything Riot would do to address the problem would be welcome. I personally think there are better ways to deal with this problem, but since Riot seems paralyzed in fear about changing the system because of revenue, I'll agree to any change, regardless of how incremental or band-aid-y it feels.

They said they're working on a system like this a while back.... I wonder when they intend to release it.
