Crit chance

So, my friend and I were talking about Jax's E (his dodge) and I was wondering if it would be better to make is a percent chance to dodge. He has been playing since S2 and told me that Riot wants to eliminate randomness in gameplay as much as possible, and that's why they removed the chance to dodge basic attacks as a stat (it was in early league, he looked it up.) So we kept talking and came up with an idea for crits. Crit could be instead of 80% random, you have 80% crit. You crit, the crit chance goes down by 10-5% (not random, just don't know what it should go down by), so now you're at 70% (going with 10% for the example). If you keep critting, it keeps going down. When you don't crit however, it goes up by the same amount (10-5%, whichever is chosen). I think this would take some tweaking. Another thing I was thinking is something like Grasp of the undying, but with crits. So, your first basic attack will crit (if you have any built), and say you have 70% crit, then 7/10 attacks (literally) would crit (crit-crit-norm-crit-norm-norm-crit-crit-crit-crit). This would be effective as to remove some randomness out, as you could be able to know how many of their basic attacks will crit. The second one is my personal thought, and the first was a collaboration between me and Axis2002 Thanks! 3mpire, out

The algorithm or whatever the code or something is called. works like that. therefor crit is technicaly not random anymore. say you have 20crit chance in lane phase. and you auto attack minnions twice. without a crit.

your then very likely to crit on one, out of your next 4 auto attacks, say you do a trade.

its not random anymore. if you dont crit the chance of criting goes up, until you crit. think riot stated this some time ago

sincerly regards teigen

Its still random, if it wherent random with a 20% chance to crit you would be garunteed to crit 1 out of every 5 auto attacks, but thats not how it works, you CAN get lucky and you CAN crit twice in a row even with a 20% crit chance, and you CAN get unlucky at an 80% crit chance on fail to crit twice in a row.

The best way to remove randomness from crit would be to creating a stacking mechanic. if you have 20% crit then you start with 0 stacks, your next attack increases your stacks to 20, then to 40 then to 60 then 80 then upon reaching 100 you are garunteed to crit and you are back at 0 stacks this means you gain a predictable, consistent crit that can be played around by both you and your lane opponent.

If you have a crit amount that does not perfectly line up to 100% than it would work like this for IE 30% crit chance, 0-30-60-90-crit but there would be 20% overflow so your next would start at 20 then increase to 50-80-crit overflow of 10 so 10-40-70-100(crit) and start back at 0 giving you the exact number of crits per auto attacks you should be getting with a 30% chance to crit.
