I feel like the balance team missed the entire meta with this patch....

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TL;DR at the bottom !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel the entire meta of the game was missed with this patch. Sure, you nerfed Xayah 's W attack speed and Kaisa 's Q to champs to lower their damage hoping it'll bring different ADCs' to the scene... but you entirely missed why none of the others were picked anyway. They aren't being picked in high elo or competitive because their damage is broken, it's because of the meta of the game everywhere else. For example:

Top lane picks : Renekton Gangplank Kayle Jayce Mordekaiser Akali Ornn

---See the trend? It's all damage champs bar Ornn. Why? Because tanks are so under tuned and useless, that it isn't even worth playing one unless it's Ornn who can buff the items.

Let's move to mid lane

Mid lane picks : Akali Qiyana Leblanc Kayle Tristana Lucian Syndra Honorable mentions being Orianna and Ezreal

--All of these are high burst damage champs with "flashy" moves. Where are the control mages? In the dumpster because why pick a control mage when you can pick an assassin that can two-shot a bot laner due to level disadvantage, which you are expanding even more next season with the bot lane XP nerfs, and lack of survivability.

Let's move onto the bot lane

Bot lane picks : Xayah Kaisa Syndra Yasuo Garen --That's it. Ashe has the highest win rate of an ADC in the entire game! You just buffed her passive slow and gave her an auto reset, yet she still isn't on this list. Why? The answer isn't in the damage, it's in the kits.

  • Xayah : Featherstorm (R) gives free reposition and dodge of a chunking ability from an assassin.
  • Kaisa : Killer Instinct (R) gives a free reposition and dodge of a chunking ability from an assassin. Along with invisibility on her Supercharge once she gets to 3 items.
  • Syndra : Burst mage than can delete a carry with a single button along with the ability to buy item 3157 to prevent from getting one shot.
  • Yasuo : Burst carry with hyper mobility using Sweeping Blade (E) along with Way of the Wanderer (Passive) to prevent from being one-shot without hard lock down CC. Only problem is, look at the rest of the lane metas. There is no lock down CC. Lastly,
  • Garen + Yuumi : Lane sustain beyond measures with the ability to poke from a distance and the lack of ability to trade back because Yuumi isn't targetable nor does she share damage absorbed by the person she is sitting on.

Do you see the trend here? It's all either burst or ability to avoid being one shot. Runes give absurd amounts of damage both early and late. Defensive items have been destroyed to the point that only one tank in the entire game is viable that isn't in the support position. The entire skill of outplaying your opponent using the micro skills you have while pushing the kit of your champ to it's limits have been entirely removed because it isn't flashy and entertaining to watch due to the fact that it takes a chunk of time to get there. So instead you've shifted the meta slowly to be the opposite, give everyone so much damage early that you don't have to wait for that scaling period to end.

TL;DR : The solution for this lack of diverse meta in the bot lane that everyone is complaining about isn't to nerf what's strong in that lane, it's to either nerf what's strong elsewhere or to buff what's weak so that they have the ability to compete with the burst.

Well yeah they're not going to change meta at the fucking end of a season. After worlds is basically only small changes and the meta changing ones are preseason.

Hmm.. is that so?

Watch them say in pre-season "Its still to early to make changes, need to see how everything works out"

Always the same story.

Yeah, they make massive changes in the preseason, why would they then continue making random changes when people haven't even gotten used to the changes they made? Unless something is horrendously out of place (either way too weak or way too strong) they are just going to take their time to see how the changes they made affected things in the long run instead of the immediate moment. It's very simple logic.

Except they don't make "MASSIVE CHANGES" in pre season. The game will still be the same next season, don't let some random ass dragon changes that nobody cares about fool you.

"It's not changes I care about therefore It's not massive"

Dragon changes are massive, whether you care about them or not they are going to change the way the game is played. Support itemization being changed is going to change how many supports approach the game. Shojin being removed and conqueror no longer providing true damage is going to affect top lane quite a bit. Klepto going away is going to affect all its current users. A new lethality item and lethality items being changed is going to affect assassins. Exp changes are going to affect everyone. These and the many other things that I more than likely forgot being done AT THE SAME TIME is going to take a while for people to get used to. Making more random changes on top of all these changes are going to achieve nothing if value. That is how we got the other insane and stupidly crazy preseason metas.

Tbf they dont really balance things during the preseason either, they infact don't try to "balance" the game until well after the start of the new season.
