So i had a rough start in the new ranked flex going 2/2 but then went on a 6 game win streak and ended with an 8/2 record. I was so excited to do well in the placements and thought i was finally going to get ranked decent this season. Last year i was 6/4 or something like that and got B4. I would like to know why i got placed so low when i did so well. Any help is appreciated.

If you were b4 last season, b5 sounds about right.

yeah its all BS bro, I finished gold last season, went 7/3 and got Silver 3, then had to play 1 more game and was sent to Bronze 1...your not alone

Ranked works in a way that it doesn't just take whether or not you won, but it also takes kill participation, creep score, objective participation, and more end-game statistics that you see when you press "Statistics" after every game. Another explanation is that the game didn't see that you improved (which isn't quite a bad thing; I was stuck in Bronze for 2 years.) and took your last year's rank (which was B4) and placed you as necessary.

Either that or the seeding bug that automatically places you in Bronze V is still active.

You can't escape the bronze.

Win losses do not mean too much at the moment in your placement games for flex queue. I wouldn't even worry about doing placements since you will have to do them again in a few weeks.

If you were Bronze in previous seasons it takes that into account - but with the hard reset I am not sure how much it is weighted.

You are usually placed lower than your rank int he previous season anyways.

You have been Bronze 3 for several season...so you probably are place appropriately.

When the ranked reset starts the highest a person can be placed is Platinum. That means that all the Diamond, Master and Challenger players get thrown into Platinum at the beginning of the season. This causes plat players to be thrown into Silver and Gold, Gold players to be thrown into Bronze and Silver, and pretty much all Bronze and Silver players wind up in Bronze. Everyone drops, usually at least a full rank (i.e. Gold 1 to Silver 1 minimum.)

You finished Bronze 3. Even if you went 10-0 you probably would have been placed in Bronze 5 because everyone usually drops a full rank (if there was a rank below bronze such as tin you would have most likely wound up in Tin 3.) Since there's no rank below bronze you unfortunately get stuck in Bronze 5 because there is nowhere else to go.

The other important thing to note is that your first couple games in your placements affect your MMR A TON more than you last couple games in placements. For example, winning your first 8 games and then losing your last 2 will result in you placing in a higher rank than losing your first 2 games and winning your last 8 even though you wind up with the same record over 10 games.

Take a deep breath and chill. If you have the skills you'll be able to climb out. I've climbed out of bronze quite a few times. All you have to do is gain 200 LP and you're back to your season 6 rank. Players at higher ranks who get dropped anywhere from 1 to 3 full ranks have to gain 500 to 1500 LP to get back to their season 6 rank. The ranked reset hurt you a LOT less than them so I'm not sure why you're complaining.

I love being placed in B5. Climbing back to where I belong is quite fun.

its hard resets. its just calculating your last seasons rank and resetting it

What was your ending rank last season? Also don't be discouraged as this is an issue thousands of people seem to be facing, just remember you'll have to do placements again soon for both flex and soloQ.
