On tilit and why it does it exist?

Why does on-tilt exist does our brains really think of this as real life why do we cry and/or rage when we lose games or throw them and why is League of Legends the most popular game the only game that has this on-tilt shit? You never see on-tilt in dota , smite or strife or any other games? Dont say that league is complex because we both know dota is more complex. How can we get rid of on-tilt? Why is the league the only one? You dont see very many people crying and raging in dota . smite , etc. But in league its all the time.... WHY?

...I don't know what you are on, but being 'on-tilt' is in every game. You get annoyed at a game part, carry that annoyance to the next game, do bad because you start making some bad decisions, and then just feed the cycle. It's the same concept in every game.

Tilt acutally comes from poker and is a complex psycological phenomenon. Basically it is a breakdown of your brains fight or flight mechanic. You feel threatened by something in LoL [losing a game, elo, someone insulting you, making mistakes] and since your brain cannot run away or fight something to remove the threat, it begins to behave irrationally and emotionally.

So, basically evolution made us this way.

Something tells me you have good grades in school from your grammar and punctuation. Anyway I see know thats for telling me the science side to being on-tilt but is there anyway to get rid of it? Or just to stop being on-tilt for a little while?

That is a VERY tricky question. Often times, tilt affects you in no so obvious ways. Myself, for example: I'm a very chill, laid back person, so going on tilt from negative things doesn't happen often for me; however, I often go on tilt from winning or doing well. So it has been a process of watching myself and how I am feeling and making sure I am being objecgtive and analytical, instead of emotional and reactive.

I find that taking a break from LoL/ranked, wether that be a few horus, the rest of a day, or even a few days if something REALLY pissed you off. Sometimes playing an ARAM can lessen it. It really is how you deal with stress, and what kind of coping mechanisms work best for you.

Because coddled Americans EXPECT things to go right. It's why EU destroyed us in poker for so many years. They expect things to go WRONG and to just work around it.

I highly doubt Dota players never tilt, and I can tell you from experience that Smite and Strife players do as well.

The only way to get rid of it is to severely drop matchmaking if you lose 3 games in a row, to give you a win to make you feel better. Thats not gonna happen
