Why Azir nerfs make no sense

Azir Azir has gotten some nerfs on the PBE server. But thre is no reason for this nerf, Azir's global winrate is 49%, Over Diamond his winrate is 48.4... Why are they nerfing him? -Well, Azir's pick/ban rate in pro games is really high end Azir's performance is really good so they decided to nerf him. Whats wrong with that?

  • Azir and all the other champions were made for the rest of the players not fo a few pro players. Yes its true that Azir is a really dificult champion and is really useful when you have experience with him. But I am not complaining because they are nerfing him, Im complaining because they eliminated some of his mechanics( The damage dealt to turrets when you try to summon a soldier on it) and because the nerf was a gooooood one, from 7 to 2 is a lot and they nerfed one of his core ítems item 3115 . With this changes Azir's winrate will drop to 42% .

PS: Zed Zed is as strong as Azir is in High elo( or more) and they dont nerf him. [zombie-nunu-tears] [zombie-brand-clap]

Let me know what you think.

Keep in mind that Riot is also nerfing AurelionSol when he didn't even win any of the MSI games.

Riot just has a tendency to nerf champions popular in professional games. Some people argue that only the top tier players can demonstrate the strength and weaknesses of these champions, but it is pretty clear that Riot also arbitrarily assign nerfs and buffs to prevent LCS matches from becoming stale with the same champions picked over and over.

Azir's W change will have no impact at all. He can deal more damage to towers by just auto attacking. His R duration nerf will reduce the effectiveness of defensive walls, but he can still Shurima Shuffle enemies.

Azir is definitely strong in this meta, but he also have a relatively high skill floor. Even after these nerfs, he will probably still be strong. I am just worried that nerfing him will give new players even less incentive to learn Azir when almost every other AP champion is easier to pick up. Azir isn't all that difficult with some practice, but his W mechanic and E Q combo will feel pretty awkward for a first time player.

Because Riot hates Azir.

They are enemy to Azir.

Fizz, Zed, Lb are untouched and immune from nerfs.

But Azir? He took overnerf. One patch three nerfs.

Remember azir is an extremely high skill floor godlike high skill ceiling.

His win rate for the masses means nothing when it's done by experienced premades.

He's basically one of those "Well he sucks if you're new to him but once you learn all of his options you can become near-unbeatable" and that difficulty gets a bit easier in premades where your strengths can really shine since azir can be picked on and into almost any team.

Not saying he deserves the nerfs tho.
