Veigar still needs work

I'll be the first to admit his old E was overpowered if you could aim it well but what they've done to it (and the rest of his kit) has killed him as a champion for me.

Right now you can't use the E to stun which makes landing your W next to impossible and since the Q is also a skillshot you can miss that too. There are no ap gains from the Q change since that was always gated by the minions and mana, not the Q CD and since it hits two targets you end up pushing your lane...as Veigar whose only form of safety is a stun you can't land unless the enemy messes up (ie no reward for skill).

The removal of DFG and nerf on his R make choosing him pointless when other champs (primarily Annie) do the same thing as he does but better. She doesn't need to farm minions with her Q so she can trade in lane, she has a reliable aoe stun (That can be used to block skillshots), and has better AA range. Her burst is slightly less powerful than Veigars but only if he lands his full combo (and is against an AP champ) which rarely happens on your account.

Pre rework Veigar had an identity, rewarded skill but lacked counterplay. Now he has counterplay but no skill rewards and no identity.

I think that summed it up perfectly.

I'm one of those poor fools that bought Veigar (and ended up getting his Final Boss Skin) about a month before this rework. The difference between then and now is night and day. Did I suck at landing my stun? You bet! But I felt like whether I lived or died, killed or was killed, was entirely resting in my hands.

The current Veigar feels like a dedicated support, not a burst mage. I doubt that will change until there are some improvements made to his W.

Had an idea for his E that could make him more interesting without having the stun that evidently no one wants Veigar to have except Veigar players.

As someone who's played Veigar thoroughly before and after the remake, I assure you landing E takes just as much skill as it did before, you just path it further ahead than you would previously. Yes, the enemy has a better chance to react to it, but that only makes the game healthier, there is no inherent added difficult for a time delay that short. As to landing W, if you feel like it's useless if you can't land the stun, you should consider that you aren't the best at playing Veigar.

Never bought into the whole "Veigar requires DFG" arguement, I never bought or used the item and functioned perfectly fine on Veigar. Veigar is more reliant on farm than highly damaging items.

Veigar has a wider variety of options than he had before, he has the same exact identity, nothing about his skill's purposes or his character has changed in the slightest.

veigar's problem is he's a situational pick and for the most part needs a team built around him.

Honestly Veigar is still really strong, I don't understand why everyone complains, even if you are close to the outside of his E as he puts it down, that short time frame before it appears is so short, if you are on the rim of the circle, you won't get stunned, if you are inside the circle, you can only get out via dash/blink before the stun timer goes, it just gives him some counterplay, something that every champion should have. Veigar is still strong, you just can't insta stun

I have to disagree with you on Veigar's Q.

It is much easier to stack Q faster, assuming you use it smartly. One of my favorite methods to getting easy stacks on Q is to use W, and once it lands, instantly follow up with Q. The enemy does not have time to trade (you are 950 units away) and you get an easy 2 AP. The third minion of the bunch can be killed with auto attacks or another Q, depending on lane conditions. Rinse and repeat.

Q also has a missile speed of 2000 (same as Ezreal 's Mystic Shot). This makes dodging an unexpected Q challenging for most mid laners. Q changes now allow Veigar to be rewarded for positioning well and choosing to make intelligent decisions, and that for me is what makes LoL a fun and exciting game to play.
