Need Help Understanding Gold Differential in Games

I was looking at this game where I faced off vs a Heim in mid. My team ended up winning, we had three drags to their one. Heim and I had about the same farm but I had many more kills and assists. However, in the end of the game I only had 400 more gold than Heim, this makes no sense to me, what am I missing?

remember kills give less and less gold the more times they die so you could just end up getting 50 gold for it while he had like 30-40 over you and those could be super minons that give 50 gold per thats a good bit of gold and his kills could have been shutdown kills that give him 500ish gold there is a lot of different factors that go into kills and assists

your team had a lot more kills, which most likely means that all heim kills/assists were shutdowns giving extra gold. remember: getting an assist on a 5 man kill of 100g kill only gives 12.25g ((100/2)/4)

Shutdown gold is global. Since his team got a lot of shutdowns, he got a lot of gold from them, even if he didn't even get assists on them.
