Cooldown Ashe: Thoughts?

So in order to fill the bottom lane role of AD Carry, I've decided to pick up Ashe, and build her with cooldown reduction. I used to try to play her traditionally, with straight Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, the works, but I would have extremely mixed results because I would just die due to poor positioning, limited experience, etc. Without a gap closer I was so used to, or inherent tankiness, I would just get wrecked.

However, staying back safely, farming with Brutalizer, Essence Reaver, Last Whisper, then finishing the build with Static Shiv and Infinity Edge (CDR boots, of course), I'd have insane wave clear, long range poke, with volley on a 2.4 second cooldown. And the results were significantly better than my other attempts at AD Carrying, allowing me to play as more of a caster than a carry. My friends still kind of have a problem with this build, since it doesn't do as much auto attack damage as other champs (although late-game it does pretty good damage). My logic tends to gear towards the utility of an AoE slow, and the fact that Ashe's auto attack game is extremely weak compared to every other AD Carry anyway.

Can I get some thoughts on this? I'm curious. Thanks.

Build is good but i d swamp the CDR boots for the AS boots upgraded on the enchacement that gives 12% movesoeed when you attack the enemy, this allows faster repositioning.

CDR boots max the CDR with the build I run. Plus I'm rarely attacking, due to the range of the volley.

I like it, but i think itll be better after the other item that gets built into essence reaver is intoduced. That item just feels bad since by the time you get it your mana problems arnt as bad.

I'm curious about the item. However, I will point out that since Ashe will be expending 60 mana per 2.4 seconds, being able to restore your mana bar is pretty handy. I feel like it's more effective than manamune, and the cooldown reduction is also important for the build.

It was put on the PBE awhile ago. I forget the exact details, but it replaces the BF sword while being the same price with the mana passive. Might have cdr too, cant remember. I definitely like ER over muramana since tear puts you pretty far behind in lane.

Edit: sorta wrong http://www.surrenderat20.net/2014/10/red-post-colection-known-bug-with-cone.html. They said theyre thinking of it, not sure if its live on PBE.

Have you tried cdr blues? the cdr per level blues give you 15% by themselves, so you can either use them to replaces your boots of lucidity , or you can still build the boots and have essence reaver get you to 40%.

Otherwise, i think a lot of people like going for an early shiv on ashe because you can use her passive to get off the shiv crits for some really good harass, plus it helps with her weak ms

Sounds like your problem is that you can't position safely to autoattack. In which case, just go play blue Ezreal.

Cooldown reduction is good, but don't underrate Ashe as an auto attacker. At lvl 18, she has the highest attack speed in the game, tied with Vayne, and she has 600 range. She's a better auto attacker than really every ADC except Tristana, Vayne, Twitch during R, or Kog'Maw during W.

You can run the 5% from masteries (I actually see a lot of people don't take these points on ADCs but I think they should, over spare points in Warlord or penetration or Double-Edged Sword or Expose Weakness and whatever else). If you have enough rune pages, maybe you could have one with scaling CDR if you don't need the MR early, say if you're against Janna + Vayne lane or Janna support in general. CDR boots vs Attack speed boots is a wishwash, you could go either. I wouldn't stray from Shiv + IE + LW + BT/BotRK/ER + BT/BotRK/ER/Defensive item though. Basically no Brutalizer and put some thought into ER vs BotRK vs BT. Ashe actually benefits heavily from lifesteal because her high auto DPS (people underrate base attack speed so much, it's a base stat that actually makes a huge difference late game - see Tristana nerfs). Also, her passive crit makes sure she gets a burst of healing from lifesteal. She can kite bruisers, ult squishies/passive crit for dueling, really the only classes of champions that can wreck her day are ones that can either abuse her champion position (Warwick ult, Orianna ult, Lee Sin ult) or assassins who are slippery (Zed, Fizz). Against those types of champions a lot of times she ends up just sitting there holding her ground staying alive from lifesteal - as compared to someone like Lucian or Ezreal who are more reliant on actually dodging damage in the first place with their mobility. Ashe can survive a Zed ult, even if Zed ults and lands E Q and BotRK before Ashe smacks him with her arrow, she just has to lifesteal it back up. Lifesteal is good on ADCs in general, but I say that because it looks like you're trying to skimp on lifesteal by going Brutalizer and ER which means you can't get double lifesteal items in a build and you have the lowest of the lifesteal items.

I think max CDR is very important for Ashe. Maximum number of arrows in minimum time, plus maximum number of volleys to siege enemies under tower, it's how Ashe wins games.

I build Ashe with item 3134 item 3158 and 9 scaling CDR blues to reach 40% at level 18. I buy them first and second in my Ashe build, then I build the traditional item 3031 item 3087 that almost everyone builds now.

I wouldn't buy item 3508 on Ashe, or really on anyone. You could consider buying item 3172 item 3137 item 3209 situationally, but I usually am building item 3142 as my CDR 6th item because the extra mobility is handy.
