Uhhhh Riot?

I typically don't mark champions as "OP" because I believe it takes a lot for someone to be that way. But I will say, I've just about had it with Veigar.

Veigar has very good poke, high AP damage, gets AP for last hitting, Aoe stun (which if stuck inside without being stunned, you better hope you have flash in a team fight or you're donezo.), and a ultimate that scales with the targeted champions AP.

Essentially what I'm saying is that it's rough facing this guy. You take lots of damage from him with his Q if he can hit it. And if you're a champion that has more of a "all in" kind of aspect like a yasuo or a nidalee, you're afraid to go and use the rewards and openings you're given. Like a long sought for Q by nidalee, because he will just drop his stun around you and combo you to death.

Don't even get me started on team fights. With his Aoe stun, he can lock a team down if positioned right and keep them in one spot for the rest of the team. And he can essentially one shot the AP carry (or anyone that is) with his ult. Not much counter play to a nuke like that other than a braum shield, qss, windfall, things along that line. And that's why I'm tired of this guy. Because no matter what you do to him in lane, camp him, kill him multiple times, push him under tower,...

HE WILL ALWAYS DO GOOD.

Even if he fed his laner, if he or she is AP, he uses that to his advantage and ruins you with his R. And the stun will always be useful for zone control and team fighting.

I don't believe him to be broke, but his condition is very unhealthy for the game. I know some people will come here and tell me "He isn't always good" and "you can do all sorts of things to fight him" but I still just believe he is very unhealthy and has caused me and all my friends lots of frustration the past three days because we have faced a Veigar in Team Builder just about every game. I pray riot sees my pain (and all of ours) and takes some action.

Thank you for your time.

First off, a champion that offers a lot of utility will always be relevant, no matter how hard you shut them down. This is the premise behind supports even being possible in the game. Complaining that his stun will always be relevant in fights is the same as saying he has utility.

Instead, focus on exploiting the weakness of the cage. It is most effective in chaotic situations (such as teamfights, where everyone is trying to keep track of everything), but it's weakest against flanks. Play an assassin and flank Veigar, and you'll remove him and his cage from the fight.

And no, Veigar isn't necessarily a death sentence to all AP champions. Long ranged champions are ideal for punishing him, because they can kill him from outside of his range. Champions that build Magic Pen instead of pure AP are also stronger against him since he has less to turn against them.

The bigger question I have is if Veigar is the final piece of the meta shifting puzzle. Are the control mages and assassins ready to step aside for the waveclear mages once again? Are the conditions right in the rest of the lanes for that transition? If so, Veigar will fall out of the meta, along with Viktor and probably Oriana.

Are you one of the people who said Vei was gutted when he got his rework?

He is good against mid laners who follow their typical cookie cutter item 3165 item 3285 rush builds. You wanna know how to ruin his day? Build Merc Treads into Zhonyas or Abyssal (or Hexdrinker if you're a Yas/Zed/Talon). Zhonyas when he ults you and Mercs means he only lands Dark Matter when its YOUR fault. Bait his cage if your an all in champ, outrange him if your a poke champ.

If you follow the standard build he will wreck you. But a Hex rush Yasuo will destroy Veigar for a long long time.
