Zed Vs. Yasuo

I just recently played Zed against a Yasuo and easily beat him, despite being really aggressive early cause our Vayne laughed at me for thinking I'd beat him. So it got me thinking, and as far as I can remember, I can't think of a time where a Zed can't beat a Yasuo. I know that skill plays a huge role in it, but I feel like Zed's skills can still harass the crap out of Yasuo even with Yas having E, Q, and his wind wall. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts and experience in this match up. From everything I've read people seem to be consistent with the idea that Yas is just a better champ overall and therefore wins vs Zed. But I'd like to see what everyone has to say regardless.

PS. I do main Zed, so that could be a factor.

Yasuo should win before lvl 6 but lose after.

Im a Yasuo main and the Zed matchup is easily one of the hardest matchup he can face. I have won the lane but it was by very narrow margins, I agree with the guys above. If Yasou plans on winnning the lane he has to get 2kills/1kill cs lead by 6min which isnt all that easy.

It's usually about whoever gets the first kill, because then they are able to snowball by getting extra items and health pots.

Until junglers come in of course, but that's something different.

In a straight up 1v1, if neither of them dies, while zed has his brutalizer, yasuo only has his zeal/boots or avarice/zeal etc

because zed basically has a complete item he will win in a level 6 fight

but when yasuo gets his static shiv then it returns to a flat out stomp fo yasuo in my experiences, all I have to do is hard push the wave then poke him under the tower, and W'ing his double ninja stars.

This is assuming junglers don't exist of course, and both players are of equal skill

I don't understand how Yasuo can lose to Zed with his passive, wind wall, insane mobility (E), and even decent range on steel tempest. Zed's Q is his main source of damage (stand behind minions OP), and having 3 abilities to counter it is kinda... great. Top tier Yasuo players will also take exhaust against Zed (cough Dade cough), since it perfectly lines up with his death mark rendering it practically useless... so, yeah... Can someone explain to me how Yasuo LOSES this match-up?

Zed has better duel ability than Yasuo no matter what. What Yasuo can do better is helping team (Wind Wall) other than that is a total win for Zed.

Zed mobility doesn't require free enemy targets, just timing. Zed damage and burst combo are easier to deal (point and click ultimate). Zed escape is far superior. Zed passive doesn't need 2 items to make some difference. Yasuo passive shield can be popped at will of the enemy.

Yasuo is in a decent spot right now but really team dependant, Zed is simply stronger by default.

Honestly, that is a one sided matchup

Yasuo can be good but hid kit doesn't really allow him to outplay a zed.

Unless the Zed misplay heavily, he go a kit that allow him to destory yasuo.

All the games i played a have NEVER EVER seen a yasuo beat a zed cleanly in midlane

Even as a Yasuo main, i think zed counters yasuo pretty well. I recently had a game against a zed and we were both on equal kills and deaths and we were both carrying (this is because I went yasuo adc, he was mid). I won in two 1v1's but lost in the following three. Our team lost because zed got too fed. I know skill has a lot to do with this, but we seemed pretty equal, its just that he can avoid my knockup q or just ult on me. In my opinion, zed is definitely advantaged kit wise.

I don't understand if I'm just that bad at Zed but, I find it hard to beat a skilled Yasuo, most of the time they E my Qs and they start attacking me from there and they can easily cancel all of Zed's damage by pressing W at the right time or dash(E)/dodge the Qs (as Zed's damage is basically from his q) so if someone wants to explain and help me understand a Yasuo V Zed matchup better, thank you.
