If you gank a lane, please ping that you are on your way

I am not the best player and sometimes, I don't notice you coming down the river because I'm focused on my lane opponent, and it would really help me follow up if you ping that you are on your way so I can help set up an engage

I have a method to my pings that I don't know if anyone I play with understands.

1 ping means "Hey, be aware of this." Like, if I ping on my way once, it means "Hey I'm headed to your lane soon, get ready."

2 pings in quick succession mean "This is happening NOW." Like, 2 assist me pings means "I need help IMMEDIATELY, they are going to siege my turret and I am afeared for my life."

3 pings means "DROP EVERYTHING THIS IS NOW YOUR TOP PRIORITY" Like, 3 danger pings means "I KNOW FOR A FACT THERE IS A SYNDRA IN THAT BRUSH DO NOT GO INTO THAT BRUSH."

Conversely, if the jungler pings on the way, look first where he is on the map before going in. Your jungler will not be able to help you RIGHT NOW if he still needs 10 seconds to reach your lane.

Also, if you were using a lot of abilities before or auto-attacked the minions frequently to counter a push, don't cease doing that. Those are rather bad giveaways that tell your enemy that something is fishy.

Another piece of advice for junglers: if you ping that you're on your way to gank a lane, don't stop to clear your entire jungle on the way there.

Had that happen to me a while back where I was pressed under tower and was about to back since I was low health. Then, the jungler pinged that he was on his way and was moving towards my lane from mid. So, I stay, start trying to set up for the gank by baiting the enemy to dive me. Right before he dives me, I check to see if the jungler is in position yet. Whelp, he had cleared raptors and was halfway through red buff. I got dove and died. I asked him what happened to "on my way" and he said "Oh, well I meant after I cleared my jungle."

When your laner starts roaming somewhere else, don't wait 15 seconds then give the whole enemies are missing ping in your lane. Instead, ping twice on the screen of the lane they're roaming to so they don't think they backed or something. I'm bronze meaning I have bronze team mates, and I know it helps me notice ganks and roams better if I'm pinged specifically they're coming.

I don't ping because I don't trust my laners to pull off a proper poker face when I come in.

Every time I ping "On My Way", my teammates will react in a way that the enemy laners immediately read and back off from.

So I just don't. If you don't follow up, too bad. I won't flame you for a failed gank though.

You can't do that man, it'll alert the enemy that you're coming with you making a racket like that.

Mom, if you're coming home from shopping soon, call us on the phone so we can do our chores at the very last minute.

I agree. And while I know there will be people on here saying "Just look at your minimap!", there is absolutely no downside to communicating with your team via pinging to let them know you are on your way. I'll still take responsibility for not noticing you coming in if you don't ping, but you might as well make a habit of it (I know I do).
