Bot Ivern··1 votes·679 views

I understand i'm only 1 person out of all these players of League of legends but I've started at season2 Every since then i bought Gangplank i love this champion and i've read guides thru the years and it was always this item item 3087 well i found out gp really doesn't need this item there is a much better buy than this which is item 3123 you are aloud to hit so much more crits than the item 3087. Gangplank doesn't need the attack speed he needs to crit and be able to do damage instead of item 3083 Gangplank and item 3209 Gangplank i really hope we can keep item 3123 it has became apart of my build item 3123 item 3078 item 3158 item 3031 item 3143 item 3035 item 3340 plz riot don't let my blade go :(

Somewhat curious, do you know why they are removing it?

Serious question, as there's a lot more to do with large-scale balance changes that your anecdotes about GP will probably go.

Okay you told me this, but do you know why, like I asked you.

Bot Ivern1 votes

Not Quite sure yet?

Narasimha1 votes

Because it was an item bought by a very very very small minority. It's not worth keeping it, and far more efficient to try and replace it.

Okay here we go.

Think of every super healer in the game. Mundo, Swain, Soraka to some extent, those guys basically. What status debuff screws them over more than anything?

Should be an obvious answe-GRIEVOUS WOUNDS~

See, the slightly paradoxical thing about having a mechanic like Grievous Wounds in the game is that it makes actually makes healing effects stronger than they should be. Weird right? Well think of it like this, there are two possible situations that occur between Healing and Grievous Wounds:

  • If healing effects are super strong, everyone would always buy Grievous Wounds items
  • If healing effects are too weak, everyone would always ignore Grievous Wounds items

Which is terribly, terribly binary already, but let's explain further what happens.

  • In a theoretically balanced game, wouldn't it make sense to say that Healing Effects would automatically be made a little extra strong just to counteract the fact that Grievous Wounds exist? All this does is make buying Grievous Wounds absolutely pointless if the opponent doesn't have healing effects and Grievous Wounds a must buy against Healing Effects. This system is binary, and not even in a good way due to how shallow it all is.
  • Now, what if healing effects are too weak in the first place? What's the point of buying Grievous Wounds anyway? Any Grievous Wounds items would and should cease to exist because it is literally pointless to have them around.

There's also a buttload more problems with Executioner's Calling in and of itself, which is also why I suspect it's getting targeted first, but the point is Grievous Wounds is a somewhat problematic mechanic for essentially a 'stat' you can buy on ALL CHAMPIONS of the game.

To even begin with i'm looking at it in Gangplank players perspective I understand the concept of a single item shouldn't just be made for that certain champ who ever it maybe.

I see where you are coming from but look at this way the item 3123 Grievous Wound is a bonus just like item 3087 shock 100-magic damage his q 100% ad damage so you get 25attk damage and the crit 20% crit instead of the attk speed which is useless (Moral of this just renders crit gp less and would instead of stattik I would put item 3025 over stattik. idk man just my opinion :/

To which I say

There's a lot more to do with large-scale balance changes that your anecdotes about GP will probably go.

Look, I'm not trying to be the dick here and say that your opinion doesn't matter, but I really need to get the point across that there is a much, MUCH bigger picture you need to consider.

nah man you're fine it's just Gangplank is Gangplank you feel me?

Ex Calling is pretty awful all things considered. It's a weaker version of IE with a negligible passive for it's only reward upon completion, which often just translates into 2.85 damage to base regen over 1.5 seconds end-game. Considering most items give free stats for completion the more expensive they get, having 1.9 extra DPS is pretty lame. IE gives more than the 250% crits for free, tossing in some AD or Crit chance in the mix. Atma's, Statik, and especially Youmuu's are all better crit items with better stats for less gold if you're looking for Avarice upgrades.

Season 2 it Calling was freaking awesome and had amazing synergy with GP. 18% life steal, 15% crit, GW on an 8 second duration, 20 sec CD cooldown active, all for 1350 gold. You could grab 2 for 30% crit and 36% life steal, which was completely broken unless you ran out of inventory space (but still worth).

Now though - you should really stop getting Ex Calling and get something else. Statik will cause GP to shoot lightning out of his gun. It makes his gun shoot lightning - how cool is that?

Also, Youmuu's builds out of the massive early-game power-spike item Brutalizer along with bankplank's avarice blade, giving enough insta-ADC stats in Youmuu's you can actually feel like a solid end-game critplank with only 1 major item. Also gives you a lot of flexibility in going Tankplank, as you've got all the key critplank stats already, so things like Randuin's or Warmog's can do a nice 1-2 punch of offense and defensive itemization.

Atma's also has pretty obvious synergy with tankplank builds.

Ex Calling is a complete waste of gold, especially considering you could have kept it as an Avarice Blade and just bankplanked until end-game.

item 3087 2500,Gold 40% attk speed 20% crit 6% movement speed item 3123 gives 20 attk damage and 20% crit 1900, gold Gangplanks parrrley scales 100% of his attack damage not attack speed he doesn't need I can see maybe for his passive grog-soaked but his q adds 2 stacks already and just 1 auto so start item 2041 3.Reditem 2003 farm till 800 gold pick up item 3093 into item 3123 item 3158 item 3078 into item 3035or if all ad team or enemy adc is fed item 3143

item 3087 2500,Gold 40% attk speed 20% crit 6% movement speed

Shiv also SHOOTS LIGHTNING.

Which is a quality you seemed to have missed.

Said LIGHTNING does 100 bonus damage per Parrrely rather than 20. And can crit so it does 200 bonus damage, so there's also that. To a single target, considering in can arc to 4 targets total.

Bot Ivern1 votes

well i mean i don't really care for the lightning effect and the magic damage isn't hat good unless you run hybrid pen marks

67chrome1 votes

well i mean i don't really care for the lightning effect

=_=

and the magic damage isn't hat good unless you run hybrid pen marks

Average level 18 armor is 75, level 18 armor on a melee is exactly 52.5.

If you get Last Whisper, for 35% armor penetration, then you'll be facing off against an effective 48.75 armor instead of 52.5 MR, for an advantage of 3.75 more resistances penetrated (or 4 if you're rounding)

No flat magic-damage items need penetrations of any kind to offer solid bonuses.

Also - a target would need 401 magic resistance and 0 armor for Calling's 20 AD to ever out-damage Shiv's 100 magic-damage.

Not to mention the lightning strikes 4 targets total, for another 300 or 600 w/ crit against everything you'd fallow up with another 15 AA's on.

Shiv's lightning leaves no reason to ever upgrade an Avarice Blade into Calling.

I recall mention that Riot planned to rework healing and delete the grievous wounds debuff. Looks like they are doing it.

As an aside, there has only been one time I have seen some one build Calling, and it was my team's adc Twisted Fate. They commented in chat that they had never built it before that game, and were finding it to be completely broken and did not know why they had not built it before. Hard to disagree with someone that is 22/5.

He went executioners calling because TwistedFate passive gives bonus gold on minion kill stack that with item 3093 he would have a good gold income

Considering he upgraded it a little over two minutes after Avarice, there would not have been much income from it.

Exec calling applies grevios Wounds and give crit chance. Which means that is designed specifically to counter the champs that get a lot of health and above all health regen The problem isthat if you keep nerfing health like Riot did with BoTRK passive on-hit buff and oarious nerfs in the past to heath and health regen related items, you got less and less reasons to get an item that is specifically design to counter health(especially because the other anti-health item, BoTRK giving also AS and the active damage can generally be used by champs that scale well with AS also independently from strictly countering health/health regen)

Look at calling as a utility item not as a damage item and how much healing it can prevent.

Don't get it to get it, but to stop high sustain only. Not worth it if no one heals
