Smurfs and Unfair matchmaking

Hello, I'm a new player who reached level 7. I'm having just a TERRIBLE gaming experience. Why?

Let's start: -Smurfs: some game gods create new accounts and invade our pvp. First look at enemy team and you see "yasuo god" / "I play shen only" and stuff like that. If they were new players, who gave them the idea to use a name like that? Of course they played the game before. This is just the start! Go to any lane and you will get abused. Make a move and get killed then your team spams you with that enemies missing thing and end up reporting you for facing a diamond player and losing while you are just level 7. How am I supposed to learn the game when I don't get a match where I can hit and get hit? sit behing your minions and you see the enemy flashing and doing things that blow your mind completely, kill you in 1 sec and act like nothing happened. Revive, go to lane, die and repeat. -Facing high levels in pvp: this time good players don't use low level accounts to ruin your game. Riot allows them to do that with their main accounts. I fought with a level 104 player. it sucked for enemy team that's obvious but still, he must play with high elo players not us. If you look up my match history you can see that I have lost 4 aram matches back to back because I was against level 17-25 players all the time.

If riot wants new players to give their game a shot and keep playng it they must show a bit of care towards their new players because they are the pros of the future. If every new player gets abused in his lane, flamed by his team and reported after the game just for facing a diamond smurf or a high level in low level pvp you should expect a lot of starters quitting and trying more fair game (constant losing is also boring), causing the death of league.

You can learn more from one game against smurf then form 10 games against other low level players. Besides I smurf myself and I don't see many smurfs at the level where it would be a problem to win against them. People with those names are mostly either renamed themselves or Gold 5 smurfs in Silver 3, but that is virtually the same Elo anyway.

Silver 3? I'm level 7 dude...

And for learning from smurfs, you really can't when you are dead in 1 sec. Sometimes I don't even get to see what happened.

That's a MOBA life, you will lose till you caught up in skill with other people and yes you can learn, if you got jumped on, then you were at wrong place at wrong time, watch your positioning. Think carefully who you fight before you take fights etc. Pre level 30 is full of smurfs and has little to do with the actual game, get level 30 go ranked then the game starts for real.

Tried to edit my comment but now we have 2. The original text and the edited one. Didn't mean to do that sorry.

Level is irrelevant, he can be 200 and still same skill level as you.

They got me every time so I assume they are skilled.

Happened to me too. In mid season 5.

After I lost enough games I went against people like me.

You got to get through that smurf hump.

Nihilu51 votes

We can't avoid smurfs, but idk why high levels are in my pvp

Madsin251 votes

Wait what...just looked you up.

You are talking about aram. Ok lol.

Nihilu51 votes

Not aram only. You can check the couple of summoner's rift games I played. Went against a smurf shen and with a smurf zed.

Well a little ways back the level cap was 30 and back then once you hit level 30 you're gonna still be kinda bad at the game this is likely just players that have just a little more experience match making is based off MMR not their level so for example

If someone was level 100 but their MMR was really low you will see them in your games still and if someone's level 60 and their MMR is high they will play at higher levels and you shouldn't see them in your game hope I explained that well

Just switch your playstyle Be more passive

Nihilu51 votes

I'm not one of those who rush for kills. I like killing minions from behind and going for a kill when I can. But when I play passive enemies go agressive on me and somehow I find myself dead easily. Maybe I lack experience as I'm new...

I can see you're being matched with level 30s. Not sure why Maybe Riot could ban smurf accounts If they're willing to do so Youtubers who smurf give Riot a bunch of money Here are some tips When you're playing against good players, the worst thing you can do is feed. In that kind of matchup, you have to accept you will miss some farm(sometimes a lot). It's something I'm working on as well If you over-extend you will most likely to get punished. Well then, you can look back at it and remember not to make the same mistake. Just try and get through the lane phase and the rest won't be so bad. The when you're level 30 you can get your revenge*[slayer-jinx-wink]*

To improve my game skills should I play pvp or bots?

Just play PvP bots are too dumb to really learn anything but I would still use bot games to test out new champions that way you don't go into a PvP having zero clue wtf is going on

Intermediate bots play quite well (for me).

If bots play quite well for you, I would suggest just sticking with bots until you can regularly get perfect scores of like 15/0. Bots are a joke to most people even in mid bronze. The biggest thing you should be working on in bot games is last hitting. Try to get perfect cs and only fight the bots when they try fighting you in your minions. Perfect cs is 44 at 5 minutes. If you are struggling to last hit minions with whichever champion you enjoy playing, take them into the practice tool. Start the game with item 1006 item 1004 item 1004 and lock your level at 3. This will make it so the minions will gradually get tougher to kill but you will never get stronger making it harder and harder to kill them.

As for getting smurfs, normal games have mmr (match making rating) so you will eventually get to a point where you no longer see any as they win almost every game and climb in mmr while you remain low in mmr. I have made 2 smurfs; one for a one trick name and one to try learning adc. In both of them, I was starting to get matched with only other smurfs by around level 10. This was in the old system though when leveling took longer.

Yeah the Smurfs are the biggest annoyance for new players because they have such a huge advantage over you and you don't learn anything from just getting completely shit on I don't know how Riot can deal with it but I got through it you can too :)

it depends on the kind of person you are but personally when I started my friends with lvl 30 accounts on the old system who are also all now diamond masters plat etc taught me to play the game through trial by fire. it was expected I was gonna feed and I had to learn from what worked and what didn't. I don't play regularly enough to really climb but I usually sit around high silver low gold which puts me in the top %20 of league players so if I wanted to really apply myself I know I could climb higher. Also another guy we did this two is now challenger out ranking all of us so it really just matters of do you learn from your mistakes more than anything. Higher skilled players punish you way harder for mistakes than low level. This is the main reason high level play actually seems dull it's because both side are terrified of making a mistake that with lose them lane and possibly game.
