Low ELO: Trust or Troll?

So I'm trying to carry my old main acct out of Bronze. Made it to promos for Silver, then a series of horrible games dropped it to B5 in 2 days. My playstyle didn't change, I was simply a support trying to do my best at my role, and every other lane fed or didn't communicate. I also had more 4v5 games than I'd care to mention.

My biggest problem was that even if I did great at my role, and our lane won hard, it was never enough to make up for the horrible plays of the rest of the team. Playing as a support basically meant I could only contribute if my team was there for the setups I made, which they rarely were.

My question is this: Do I continue to even attempt to trust my teammates to be better than crap? Or should I play off-meta supports or even carries botlane in the support role to make up for this horrible elo?
