reworkd to Ryze' ult

I think right now Ryze' ult isn't too great, its useful for catching up with your team and sometimes getting away, but until lvl 2 its practically useless for the short range it has. It would be cool if, going along with his lore, that his ult would be he unleashes the power of a world rune, and either his abilities get overdrive, dealing a lot more damage while also hurting him, or, he gets a complete new set of abilities that can shape the terrain and give a advantage to his team. Just a thought, i think it would make him a lot more fun to play

Wouldn't that go against his lore tho? He's ony affected by a sort of radiation.. he doesn't actually use the runes.. it would seem he doesn't even carry any, aside from when he's hiding them. It would go against his character to give in to the runes and would make him technically a hypocrite...if he could only do it once throughout the entire game then perhaps lol..... but multiple instances? xD kinda hypocritical. If in lore it's established he uses a rune then yh it could be allowed.

Basically if u kept that ability idea, but tied it to his own innate power rather than a rune it wouldn't be so anathema

I kind of agree with that where his ult should just be like some kind of huge aoe cataclysm. Im pretty sure that's what the runes do. They cause natural disasters and can be weaponized. his ult right now is garbage in solo queue. Not athe best cutoff move because it's highly telegraphed. That has nothing to do with his lore. The rune passive gives him defense.thats the complete opposite of what a rune does. Sure keep that but change the ult to the cataclysm. It would be much more interesting.

yeah jsut something that does a huge burst of dmg like what he fears in the lore, no one fears a teleport that is easy to see and goes 3 meters away

They were gonna give some big changes to Ryze before, though it doesn't seem like they'll go through with it.

What they were going to do to change his ult was to have it's range be the same at all 3 ranks (they would've gave his ult 3 ranks instead of his Q have the extra one), the range would be increased to what I think is actually farther than his current rank 2, but it would have a 5 minute cooldown at rank 1, with each new rank doing nothing but reduce the cooldown by another minute. I would've liked this change be so much more powerful, even though you'd have to be careful as to when you use it early on.

I am glad his ult doesn't do damage though. Once he gets the ball going, he is already able to do SO much freaking damage at a very consistent rate. In order for a damaging ult on Ryze to seem practical, it would kind of need to be broken.
