A newbie's take on the game

Let me preface this by saying these are my observations of the game so far, and may be entirely innacurate. Backstory: I am an avid gamer, reaching top 20 in Halo 5. I've played PC games on the side (CS:GO), but this is my first season playing League of Legends, and my first MOBA. In my short time playing, I was placed in bronze 2 and I'm now Silver 4, and hitting my first wall. Videos I've watched and guides I've read say that most of what it takes to advance past silver is mostly CSing well and using only a handful of champs (Kled, Irelia, Fiora, Nasus, Shen are my top picks.). Despite having stretches of games over 8 CS/m (Far better than my opponents 5/m) I will mostly drop games if I am counter picked. For despite out CSing most player in the game, everyone feeds hard in silver, and your CSing pales in comparison to someone who has 8 kills as opposed to your 1-2. I think I've realized (Atleast at my current elo) It is harder to carry as a Top Laner, than it is as a bot laner. You are responsible for 3/5 of the games players (Bot laners and Jungler, since most play around bot), close to Dragons, and jungler in bot lane. I have since played 19 games of one tricking Ashe to learn ADC, and got my winrate up to 63% in my short time, despite having never played ADC, never playing Ashe, but using what little game knowledge I have to NOT feed my laners/jungle, and taking drags when presented the opportunity after securing a kill. I feel in control of the game, especially with a potentially game changing ult and the slows, and sutained damage Ashe provides. Even behind you can turn a game around by hitting that fed zed or yasuo with your ult and getting him bursted down. What do I know? I'm just a silver scrub, but I'd like to hear others thoughts.

Just focus more on how you can help or save your teammates lanes not carry it for them.

Try to pickup champs who can both build to carry and setup for their teamates(not both at the same time). This way, you can decide what your team should be doing in key moments, since you are always in "control". For example, Glacial Augment Veigar Veigar is what I play. It allows me to get a lot of damage or get a lot of cc. I can survive most lanes and can also gank others. For the top lane, I believe Gnar Gnar could do the same thing. maybe getting a item 3153 Blade of the Ruined King could build well into glacial augment. I know it sounds harsh, but I think you should completely drop Fiora Fiora(maybe not in normals). She is insanely hard to play, to a point where a lot of players do not even realize how complex her kit is. When you will reach Gold, I suggest you pick her back, as a no one plays her in here and you would have a powerful pocketpick. However, your determination to learn the game is reflected by your growing winrates. Keep it up!

Also, don't call yourself a newbie in a game, ever. That is a good way to spike unwanted conversations with teamates.

Focus on dying less. After landing phase ends don't do the same thing over and over. Every movement out of lane needs to be"how can I (safely) inflict damage to the enemy's wincon/put my team in a good position".
