Support Bard underpowered late game ?

Does anyone else find that bard drops off late game ? I like his dynamics early game and he can play a crucial role i think riot should make the range of his Cosmic Binding a little longer, and make it so if it hits you the farther away the more damage or stun it does but thats just my thought. I think as it is right now he drops off late game and he becomes less important as a support. His ult is definitely useful but beyond that and his magical journey for ganks i don't really see him as an effective support late game, espcially compared to supports like Lux, Morgana, LuLu, and Blitz who can all make major impacts late game.
