Does the new Machetee work on lane minions?

Skirmisher's Sabre (NEW) PASSIVE - CHALLENGING SMITE : Smite can be cast on enemy champions, marking them for 6 seconds. While marked, you deal 18-69 bonus true damage to them on hit, have vision of them, and reduce their damage to you by 20%.

PASSIVE - JUNGLER : Deal 45 magic damage on hit to monsters over 2 seconds and gain 10 health and 5 mana per second while in combat with monsters

Does the second passive apply to lane minions? If it does, I can see taking certain ADCs with smite just for the dualing potential and lane sustain.

Confusing, but thanks for clearing it up....I'm still debating how it would do in lane with the true damage. Even if you only get 4-5 Autos in at level 1.... almost 100 true damage. Not to mention its going to be up a lot more often than the opponents heal / barrier. You could even win the trades vs Lucian at that point.

I wouldn't really recommend it. It costs 750G to get the modified smite, and that doesn't provide any other useful stats for you. You would be better with 2x Long Swords for damage. The damage reduction is nice, but heal, ignite, or barrier are probably more useful at most points of the game.

I've been testing out Devouring Skirmisher's on TanKoggy and it looks promising. Your early game is butt, but that isn't exactly anything new on Kog'Maw. He ends up being an impossible to dive late-game monster with heavy magic and true damage. But doing this seriously takes an investment until Skirmisher's is done.
